Breathe in the thin air and bold ambition of the "Mile High City," a destination where the Rocky Mountains serve as a daily reminder to climb higher. Denver is the ultimate playground for the outdoor-obsessed, home to a culture that prioritizes health, mountain-fresh air, and a rugged sense of adventure. It is a city that respects the climb and rewards the effort, making it a natural home for the DEKA community to converge and conquer.
This exclusive one-day event takes over the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center, a premier rustic-inspired resort with sweeping views of the Front Range. The one-day schedule is packed with intensity, leading off with the DEKA FIT Ultra for those looking to maximize their lap count. Individual athletes will then hit the floor for the Elite and Age Group heats, along with the weighted challenge of the Ruck waves. The day concludes with the high-speed coordination of 2-Person Teams, giving you the chance to leave it all on the floor in the shadow of the Rockies.
ATHLETE JUDGE PROGRAM
DEKA is truly a fitness movement we all created together. To ensure a professionally judged racing experience for all athletes, we ask all registered athletes to participate in the DEKA Athlete Judge Program at DEKA FIT events.
How it works:
If you are registered to race this event, please use the Denver DEKA FIT Athlete Judge Sign-up Form to select your preferred Athlete Judge time.
Within 1 hour of finishing your race (or anytime before your race), make your way to the Athlete Judge check-in area at Zone 1 to begin your 60 minute volunteer judging time.
We can’t thank you enough for your support as we continue our mission of creating an epic opportunity for ALL levels to celebrate fitness together.
GIVEAWAY SHIRTS
Those who registered early and were among the first 500 to earn the exclusive DEKA giveaway shirt will receive an email with instructions on how to claim your reward. Please keep an eye on your inbox and email [email protected] if you have any questions.

The 7/20 Foundation is proud to present the 5th annual Hero’s Journey 5k Run/Walk. This race makes its way through Aurora's City Center and the High Line canal trail with a start and finish in the 7/20 Memorial Reflection Garden. For those over 21, this race includes admission into the 7/20 Foundation's annual beer festival.
The Hero's Journey represents any person who faces a challenge, encounters struggles to overcome it, and returns home a Hero. We hope this 5k is a transformative experience as you run/walk together; whether you are a veteran runner or this is your first 5k. We chose to start the run across from the theater and end in the 7/20 Memorial Reflection Garden as your return home/finish line to honor the journey from tragedy to hope. It is the perfect place for each of us to honor and celebrate our collective accomplishment as well as our heroes from the July 20, 2012 tragedy.
Proceeds raised through the event will go toward the Zack Golditch Opportunity Scholarship.

Who is Rex and why he is so important?
The star of our event is K-9 Rex, a four-year-old black Labrador therapy dog. He and his fellow K-9s with their handlers go to local schools to primarily offer comfort to students with special needs, many who are in crisis and are dealing with stress, anxiety and depression. RexRun for PAWSitivity 2025 is presented by Back The Blue K-9 Force, a volunteer-run nonprofit organization. It is dedicated to providing funding for safety and training equipment, health care needs as well as expanding the team of K-9s to meet the needs of these communities. 100% of all net profits from RexRun for PAWSitivity 2025 go to Back the Blue K-9 Force.

Rocky Mountain Road Runners holds a monthly Trophy Series in the Denver area. We provide a low-key, low-cost racing environment. Everyone is welcome to run with us!
The 8mi race uses a handicap start system, slow-to-fast, spread over ~45 minutes. This gives everyone a chance to win. We'll use your estimated finish time to assign you a start time with others the same speed.
All 5k racers will start ~15min after the first 8mi starters.
Our October race is at Star K Ranch, in Aurora, along the mostly dirt Sand Creek path.
Race Day Details
Time: 8:30am + handicap start for the 8mi. All 5km racers start ~15 minutes after the first 8mi starter. Show up 30-45 minutes early to get your bib and warm up!
Location: Star K Ranch/Morrison Nature Center, in Aurora
Course: The race runs on the mostly wide dirt path along the Sand Creek.
Both courses are out and back, slightly uphill out and downhill back.
