Join us this fall for the Officer Sixto Maldonado, Jr. Memorial 5K Run & 2 Mile Walk, a special community event honoring the life and service of Officer Sixto Maldonado, Jr.
On August 19, 1975,
Officer Maldonado made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the City of Firebaugh. Nearly 50 years later, we gather to remember his courage, dedication, and the lasting impact he left on our community.
This memorial run and walk isn’t just a tribute — it’s a way to carry his legacy forward. Proceeds from the event will fund a scholarship for graduating seniors at Firebaugh High School who plan to continue their education. It’s an opportunity for all of us to invest in the future of our youth and support the next generation as they work toward their goals.
Whether you run, walk, volunteer, or cheer from the sidelines, your participation makes a difference. Together, we can honor Officer Maldonado’s memory and help create brighter futures for our local students.

We put the "ish" in "ten-ish". Just think of the extra distance as a FREE bonus.
This 12.4-mile course winds through the beautiful Red Hills Recreation Area in the Sierra Foothills. Winter is an
amazing time to run in Red Hills. Water-crossings and mud add difficulty to already challenging, technical terrain.
NEW THIS YEAR!! - Giving you options is what DB is all about! This year we have added a second distance, giving you the choice between a 10ish mile or 10ish K event. Whichever distance you pick, you will still be seeing the Swisegoods at our only aid station.
