Vampire Run 5K – join us at our first ever 5K on the trails of Roseville, CA! All runners will get a special Vampire Run medal and entry into our Community Festival. We encourage capes, teeth, and costumes! Entry fees are $30 for adults and $10 for those under 14. Five and under can enter the festival for free. This is a timed run.
Food – all entrants will receive coffee from a coffee cart, juice, donuts, and other snacks! Who could pass up sno-cones and popcorn?
Games and Fun! – join us for carnival games, crafts, and face painting…all included in the race fee!

About the Race This event is held at the Sly Park Recreation Area in Pollock Pines, and it’s held under special use permit with the El Dorado National Forest. The course follows the trails surrounding Jenkinson Lake through endless pine trees and buttery horse trails. This race is held three times a year to offer runners the experience of running in this beautiful park through different seasons. Founded in the 1960’s, George Whittell is a small high school surrounded by pine forests overlooking Lake Tahoe in Zephyr Cove, Nevada.
George Whittell High School's Student Council is hosting this trail run. Come support students as they organize, plan, and host the race!
The race course will cross creeks and logs alongside many trees, rocks, and squirrels.
In addition to the 5K race, we have an 800 meter fun run for the little ones. Popsicles for all finishers in the fun run!
Runners, walkers, everyone are welcome to participate and enjoy some hot chocolate, medals, and good times!! To keep costs down and participation high, t-shirts are sold separately through the website. The shirts were designed by the students.
So sorry, but pets are NOT allowed on school property. The trail is also NOT stroller friendly unless you have a team to carry it through parts of the woods ;)
About The NorCal Backyard Ultra returns October 23 & 24, 2026, bringing runners back to the familiar trails around Folsom Lake for another test of endurance and resolve. Each lap begins the same, but how far you go depends entirely on you!Two events make up the weekend. The Last Person Standing begins at 5:00 PM on Friday, October 23rd. Runners must complete a 4.16 mile loop every hour, on the hour, until only one runner remains. The Mini Last Person Standing starts at 7:00 AM on Saturday, October 24th, and runs for up to 12 hours, allowing participants to cover as many as 50 miles.Prize money will again be awarded: $400 to the Last Person Standing, $200 to the Assist (second place), and $100 to the Last Female Standing. The 12 hour Mini event offers a reduced entry fee for runners who want the backyard experience without the overnight hours.Whether you’re chasing distance, competition, or discovery, the NorCal Backyard Ultra offers a chance to test limits in a supportive and focused
environment. Format At the start of each hour, runners begin a 4.16 mile lap and must finish it before the next hour begins. Failing to be at the start line when the next lap begins ends your race. The event continues until one runner completes a lap within the hour and no other runners remain.The planned course will feature roughly equal parts road and smooth trail around Folsom Lake. Due to ongoing construction, the final route and elevation profile will be confirmed closer to race day.Runners seeking the full backyard experience or goals such as 100K or 100 miles+ should register for the Last Person Standing event. Those looking for a contained challenge can join the 12 hour Mini event, which is limited to 50 miles.The rules are simple. The challenge is not. The "Mini" If you want to experience the Last Person Standing format but prefer a more approachable distance, all within the daylight, then the Mini is for you. Designed for runners aiming for 12 to 50 miles, this event follows the
same 4.2-mile loop every hour format but ends after 12 hours or 50 miles, whichever comes first.The Mini starts on Saturday October 24th at 7:00AM, with the same format and course as the Last Person Standing Event. Equipment Rental If you're traveling to the race or don't already own equipment, you may rent a 6' table for $50 (taxes not included) or a 10'x10' tent, 6' table, & chair package for $140 (taxes not included)* from us. Rentals are first come first serve and will be available for pickup on race weekend. *Damage, lost, or stolen equipment may incur an additional fee. Awards All participants in both events will receive a NorCal BackYard Ultra quarter zip and a handcrafted wooden finisher award based on the distance completed. The Placer Breast Cancer Foundation is excited to be putting on the Hot Pink Fun Run again this year…with a twist! This year we will be holding the Hot Pink Bubbles & Brews Fun Run! There will be three options to choose from - 5K, 10K, or 1 mile.

Can Be Cold, which were more casual runs. Developing a format for this merger has been challenging. I really want to maintain the same vibe and atmosphere which was so popular in our winter trail series, but also provide more options of distances running in more mild temperatures that Fall brings. We'll see how it goes this year and make adjustments for next year. Your feedback is always welcome! Awards There will be no finisher or division place awards. We want to keep registration rates reasonable and affordable. Participant Check-in Bib #'s can be picked up race morning. Dogs: Forest Service is requesting no dogs on course due to the sheep grazing for fuel reduction. Dogs are OK around the start/finish area, just not out on the courses. Packet Pick up There will be no Friday evening runner check in. All runners must check in race morning for bib assignment. Course descriptions These are very scenic but challenging runs on some of the most popular trails in Carson City. For more detailed information, please visit our website at www.ascentruns.com. 6K: Figure eight course on jeep road and single track trail in and above Longview Canyon. It is 4 miles in length with close to 900' of climbing.12K: This is a daiseychain type course. The first mile and a half follows the 6K course then continues to climb up to Kings Canyon and then to the new Lincoln Bypass Trail. Here is where it connects with the 30K and 22K courses heading downhill on Lincoln Bypass Trail through Longview Canyon to the finish. The 12K(8 mile) is composed of half jeep road and half single track trail with 1600' of climbing..22K: The first mile of the course are on pavement. From the start runners will head north on Longview Way, turning left up Ash Canyon Road
towards the water tanks. At the water tanks the road turns into dirt and heads up Ash Canyon to the Ash to Kings Trail and the first aid station. After 5.6 miles on the Ash to Kings Connector Trail, runners will come to Waterfalll Road and the second aid station. The 22K will continue on the Ash to Kings Connector Trail for another 1.8 miles to the junction of Kings Canyon Road, cross the road, and enter onto the Lincoln Bypass Trail. After 2.2 miles on the Bypass Trail runners will come to the third and final aid station. The last 2.3 miles continues on the Lincoln Bypass Trail to the finish back at Long Ranch Park. This course is 14 miles long with 2100' of climbing on mostly single track. Choose from three distances:
10k run/walk: The 10k (6 mile) loop begins at James Lee Park. Runners start with a .25 mile single track climb before exploring several trails that make up the Jacks Valley and James Lee Loops.
5k run/walk: The 5k'ish (3.55 mile) loop begins at James Lee Park. Runners start with a .25 mile single track climb before exploring several trails that make up the James Lee Loops.
2k family run/walk: The 2k also begins at James Lee Park and utilizes the crushed granite path that follows the Indian Hills fitness course before circling back along single track trails to the start (all dirt, but off-road strollers and friendly, leashed dogs welcome). The 2k is free and all children under 12 will receive a kid's finisher medal. Enjoy a beautiful fall morning with your family at the base our beautiful mountains!

Family-Friendly Walk/Run Events: The Day of the Dead 5k has something for every generation to enjoy from a 5k for adults to our Kid Races.
Live Entertainment: Immerse yourself in Mexican tradition with live music and performances. With stilt walkers and live music, transport yourself to another time as we pay homage to the cultural heritage of our grandparents.
La Ofrenda: To honor loved ones who have passed, bring offerings, such as photographs, flowers, nostalgic items, and foods as we create a collective space of remembrance and gratitude. All items should be placed on La Ofrenda by 7:30am in front of the Wild Runners store at 10149 Fair Oaks Blvd.
Antojitos Delights: Enjoy the flavors and culinary delights that our grandparents cherished. In addition to free home-made tamales for race participants, indulge in the food and delectable treats of Mexican heritage.
Post-Race Festival and Expo: Unwind and connect with fellow participants post race! Explore our Community Partner and vendor booths showcasing the latest in fitness, wellness, and recovery services.
5k Course
The race kicks off with a 0.5-mile downhill through the charming Old Fair Oaks Village neighborhood and over the bridge. Following a 3.2-mile out-and-back path along the picturesque American River Trail towards Bannister Park, the course remains entirely on paved roads and trails, catering to participants of all abilities and those with strollers. The race concludes with an approximate half-mile ascent back to the finish line.

Awards & Age Divisions
Awards ceremony to follow event at 9:30 a.m. for the 5k and costume contest. Prizes for overall male and female winners will be presented. Top three finishers in each age division will receive a special prize. Age-group winners pick up prizes at the Awards table.
Top boy and girl finishers in the 1/4 and 1/2 mile races will receive a special prize. All other kid finishers will receive medals.
Top 3 finishers in the male and female races will respectively receive:

Join us for our third run of the "We Run This Town" fun run/ walk series in October, as we Paint the Town Pink during our 5k fun run/walk through Gardnerville. Explore the view along the beautiful Martin Slough trail as we fundraise for our local cancer treatment centers and raise awareness while we are at it. Make sure to dress in PINK to show your support.

Dogs are welcome to join the fun; please ensure they are not aggressive, current on their vaccinations, and child/dog friendly. ALL DOGS MUST BE ON LEASH AT ALL TIMES AND WILL BE POSITIONED AT THE BACK OF THE STARTING PACK. PRIZE BREAKDOWN: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place finishers will receive a trophy. Come celebrate Día De Los Muertos (Day Of The Dead) and run a 5k race.
5k run/walk starts 9am on Saturday October 31st, 2026. All levels are welcome, it is a fully paved path, strollers are welcome.
Packet Pick up is Saturday October 31st 7am-8:45am at North Natomas Regional Park (Same location as the race).
All participants will receive a t-shirt and sticker with registration, top 3 in each age group and top 3 over all in male and female categories will receive ribbons.
The race will be held at North Natomas Regional Park, it is a flat course held on the sidewalk which is a loop around the entire park. All ages and running/walking abilities are welcome to participate. Participants are welcome to wear costumes.
Only dogs allowed are service dogs, this is a USATF rule because this is a sanctioned race by USA Track and field.
This is a fundraiser for the Azteca FC youth Cross Country and track program. Every season members from Azteca FC work hard to qualify for the Junior Olympics. This 5k is a fundraiser to assist the athletes who qualify to attend and compete in the Junior Olympics. In July 2025, Jackson Sevilla and Ethan Tang, represented Azteca FC at the Junior Olympics In Savannah, Georgia. Your generous support helps athletes compete at the highest level and gain national recognition to help them earn opportunities to compete at the college level.
