From big races to Saturday morning group runs—find 10k events and connect with the local endurance sports community.
Native American Health Center (NAHC) is excited to announce our 25th Running Is My High (RIMH) 5k/10k Fun Run and Walk themed "25 Years in Motion" on Saturday, June 6th, 2026 at the Fairy Land area of Lake Merritt; 699 Bellevue Ave., Oakland, CA 94610.
NAHC created Running is My High to engage community from all walks of life in an event promoting physical, mental, and cultural health. Annually, our 5K/10K draws over 400 runners and walkers from across the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. This special event will feature programming that honors Community Health and Native American cultural practices; includes guest speakers; and features outreach tables to connect our community to helpful resources.
Online registration closes on June 5th and costs $30 for adults and $15 for youth, in-person registration on the day of the event (6/6) is $35 for adults and $20 for youth.
We will see you at the starting line!
Rising up from the depths of Lake Chabot, the Bad Bass (a strangely kilt-wearing, bagpipe-playing Scottish bass with teeth) shows itself once again on July 18th 2026! Why is he Scottish? What is he doing in Castro Valley? How can he play bagpipes with his fin? We have no idea how to answer those questions. Why is he so bad-to-the-fishbone? Maybe he just knows how awesome the trails of Lake Chabot really are!
Whatever the Bad Bass is doing here, we hope you'll join us at the beautiful Lake Chabot Marina in Castro Valley for the scenic Bad Bass 5K, 10K or Half Marathon!
