6.5 mi out & back | Easy Difficulty | Elevation Gain 990 feet | Warner Springs, CA

This hike is located about 2hrs from base. The first section of the trail takes you through a shade of oaks. Trees open up to grasslands overlooking remote area. At the end, you are treated to a unique rock formation called Eagle Rock. This hike is rated as easy, relatively flat, with little incline. This trail is a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). We are likely to encounter backpackers on the trail. Please be sure to give backpackers the right of way.

Transportation is required.

Safety Tips: Wear lightweight non-cotton clothing and head covering (hat). Use sunblock. Must carry 2L of water, coupled with electrolyte tablets. Wear a trail shoe with good traction. Bring a small backpack to carry your water, snacks, and other hiking essentials. Trekking poles recommended if you have them. Come prepared with a fully charged cellphone.

Calling all dogs (and their humans)! The Ruff Run presented by Paws of Coronado is a 5K run/walk celebrating our furry friends. Come on out to Tidelands Park on Saturday, March 7th for some tail-wagging fun!

Event Details

• Run or walk a 5K with your favorite furry friend; starting/finishing at Tidelands Park on Coronado Island

• 1.5 mile course for walkers and dogs of any ability

• 1 aid stations available for both humans and dogs

• Awards: all runners will be timed. Overall and age group division awards are reserved for participants who run with the dog.

Military Community Yard Sale @ Fiddler's Cove Marina & RV Park! Saturday April 11th from 0900-1600. Reserve your space to sell all your unwanted household goods and items. Space reservation options include one parking space, size 19ftx 9ft, two tables and a chair OR two parking spaces (side by side), 28ft by 18ft, four tables and two chairs for staging of your items.

Event is FREE for all to attend and enjoy some 'shopping', music, inflatables and food trucks!

All people participating in 'selling' at the yard sale are responsible for their own form of accepting payment for their items

Find your way out of the Sweet Pea Maze at the Floral Fields at Carlsbad's Flower Fields.

Includes entrance to fields, scavenger hunt passport for children, playground, and transportation from NASNI to Carlsbad Flower Fields.

Does not include tractor wagon rides and butterfly encounters. These activities can be added on site at the Carlsbad Flower FIelds.

Bus pick up will be at the NASNI Visitor's Lot at 9:15 am.

Operation Megaphone, also known as "OMP", is an annual worldwide event designed to connect military teens from around the world to discuss key issues that affect military teens, promote communication across all military services, and provide opportunities for teens to give back to their communities. Teen led and adult supported, OMP is a great opportunity for your teens! A fun filled night of games, activities, movies, sports, dinner and more!

We’re thrilled to celebrate the 53rd year of the Crown City Classic 12K & 5K Run along the stunning Coronado Bay! Kick off your 4th of July festivities with a 12K (7.4 miles) or 5K (3.1 miles) run, and don’t forget that in 2026 our Crown City Kids Half Mile—open to racers 12 and under—will return to inspire the next generation of runners! Both courses start and finish in Tidelands Park, treating participants to picturesque views of the Coronado Bridge as they make their way along Glorietta Boulevard.

Coronado’s Liberty Celebration Swim (formerly 4th of July Rough Water Swim) has been an iconic way to celebrate our Nation’s Independence. The swim takes place in beautiful Glorietta Bay Park (Open Water) . The event has a distance for every swimmer and experience level. The venue has iconic back drops of the famous Coronado Bridge. The course is nested in the southwest corner Glorietta Bay Park, with low wave/wake and current impacts, making this race experience fun and competitive for all athletic levels and is a perfect race for swimmers new to the open water scene.

All participants receive a finisher medal, souvenir swim cap and race t-shirt!
