Kern County Sheriff's Employees' Benefit Association 12th Annual Honor Run
Proceeds raised from the event will be donated to the Kern County Sheriff’s Employees’ Benefit Association and will be used to assist the families of our fallen deputies by providing scholarships for the children left behind. In addition, a portion of the money raised will be used to support the Sheriff's Activities League (SAL) supervised youth activities and programs throughout the county.
Race Day registration for 5K and 10K begins at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 7:45 a.m.
5K and 10K runs will start at 8:15 a.m. Race Day Registration will be $50*
Kids 1K race day registration begins at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 7:45 a.m.
Kids 1K run will start at 8:00 a.m. Race Day Registration will be $10*
*does not include online processing fees
Online registration will close at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026. (Shirt size guaranteed if registered prior to February 5, 2026)
The race will begin at Section 2 of Hart Park with parking located around the park and near the site of the run.
This year, there will be a pre-race packet pick-up that will occur on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Kern County Regional Training Center. The Regional Training Center is located at 962 Norris Road, Bakersfield, 93308.
After the race - medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each division and a runners raffle!
We look forward to seeing you and thank you for supporting this great cause!
Participants in the event are also welcome to walk the race route. Strollers are welcome. Runners who want to bring their leashed dogs for the run are welcome to do so. There will be water bowls at the turnaround points for your canine buddies!!!

The opening ceremony and survivor ceremony is at 9am on Saturday, March 15th. Competitions are to follow. Cornhole competition opportunities are available onsite for $20 per person.

This exciting competition brings local businesses, service organization and families of all sizes together for a variety of fun and entertaining activities. It's a great opportunity to promote teamwork and a sense of pride. All proceeds benefit the Kern County Cancer Foundation.
Teams will compete in a variety of fun and low-skill activities all while vying for the most accumulated points and ultimately, ownership of the "Ultimate Cancer Fighters" Team Cup. Likely competitions include: Connect 4, Giant Pong, Hoppin' World Cup, Obstacle Course Relay, Bigfoot, and Around the World.
The 2025 Event Schedule, Game Rules, Team Roster and Event Map are at the bottom of the Competition Info section of this website.
This one-day competition will take place at Liberty Park 11225 Brimhall Rd. 93312 in Bakersfield on Saturday, March 15th 9am-2pm with awards and raffle to follow.
Each team consists of 10 members. A group can enter more than one team if space allows. If your company/club/family has paid for your team, please see your team leader for your registration code to waive your individual fee.

This awe-inspiring annual event showcases over 1,000 American flags on display at The Park at River Walk to honor those we have lost. There will be a 5K course and a one-mile memorial walk. The 5K course winds its way through the scenic flag adorned park and down the multi-use trail adjacent to the park, and is suitable for both runners and walkers. This exciting challenge allows you to raise funds and awareness for those battling cancer all while having fun!
100% of the funds will benefit the Kern County Cancer Foundation to assist local patients with medical bills related to cancer treatment as well as assist children with cancer who must travel for treatment. This is our 13th Annual KERN CANCER RUN/WALK and FESTIVAL EVENT and we couldn't do it without you!

It will be held Saturday, September 12th from 8am - 1pm at Riverwalk Park in Bakersfield, CA.

Early registration is $10, then the cost goes up to $20 after March 31, 2026.

Children registration is $10 ages 3-11.

Kern County Cancer Run/Walk T-Shirts can be purchased for $20 with a deadline of 8/23/2026.

Survivors are FREE and there will be a special designated area for them. (Even if you're on treatment, you're a SURVIVOR)
This race will be timed for all registered runners and awards will be given. Top fundraising teams and individual will also receive awards.
We are trying to raise as much funds as possible for Kern County cancer patients who need financial assistance and transportation during treatment.
Some T-shirts will be available for sale at the event. Donations are always welcome.

YOU WILL RUN OUT THE BACK GATE TO THE PAVED KERN RIVER PAVED TRAIL (EAST) INTO THE PANORAMA VISTA PRESERVE (DIRT TRAILS) FOR A 3.5 MILE LOOP, AND THEN BACK ONTO THE KERN RIVER PAVED TRAIL TO CHINA GRADE ROAD. RUNNERS WILL TURN RIGHT ONTO THE ALFRED HARRELL HWY/CHINA GRADE LOOP (CLOSED ROAD) - YES THAT'S A CHALLENGING 1 MILE CLIMB UP TO THE PANORAMA BLUFFS, BUT EVERYONE LOVES IT, AND JUDGMENT DAY WOULDN'T BE THE SAME WITHOUT IT! OUR 10K WAS INTRODUCED IN 2025, AND IT DID NOT DISSAPPOINT!
YOU WILL START WITH THE HALF MARATHON RUNNERS, STARTING INSIDE THE HISTORIC SAM LYNN BALLPARK, AND RUNNING OUT THE BACK GATE TO THE PAVED KERN RIVER PAVED TRAIL (EAST). AT MILE 2.8, THERE WILL BE "SPLIT" WHERE THE HALF MARATHON GOES LEFT, AND THE 10K COURSE GOES RIGHT, AND UP THE 0.40 MILE DIRT TRAIL, ABOUT 190' ELEVATION GAIN (STRAVA CALLS IT BLUFF HILL). ONCE AT THE TOP, YOU WILL JOIN THE PANAROMA PAVED TRAIL, AND CONTINUE THROUGH PANORAMA PARK ALONG THE BLUFFS WITH AWESOME VISTA VIEWS, BEFORE SWEEPING BACK DOWN (CLOSED MANOR STREET EXIT) TO THE PAVED RUNNING TRAIL ALONG THE KERN RIVER, AND FINISHING BACK INSIDE THE BALLPARK.
THESE COURSES HAVE EVERYTHING! START/FINISH INSIDE THE BALLPARK ON GRASS, PAVED TRAILS, DIRT TRAILS, PAVED (CLOSED) ROADS, AN UPHILL, A DOWNHILL, AND LOTS OF FUN!!

We will be hosting our 8th Annual Bakersfield Jingle Bell Run for Toys for Tots! The Jingle Bell Run will feature a Christmas designed Sweatshirts and Jingle Bells to all registered participants. The hope is to get each runner or walker to bring a new unwrapped toy and for doing so they will be awarded a Santa Hat!

Saturday, February 21st - Shot Gun Start at 8:30am and Check-in at 7:30am
Runners Start on Morrow Field / Walkers Start on Griffith Field Stadium / Embrace the Legacy Tour meets at the Water Tower near the concessions stand at Griffith Field.
Day of Race Registration 7am - 8am at Check-In Desk at Table on Morrow Field. Cost is $40/pp
We invite you to participate with us in this FUNdraising endeavor to build community and raise funds. Our 5k course is designed as a nostalgic run/walk throughout our historic campus ending near the famous football tunnel in Griffith Stadium. Our 2K walk will meander around campus and even through some of the buildings. The Walk will start after the Run. Medals given to all finishers!
Race T-shirts can be purchased during registration for an extra fee if you pre-register by February 4th.
Plan to hang around after the race for pictures and selfies on historic Griffith Field.
