Windfall Full Moon Trail Run
Another year and another opportunity to join Epic Recess in taking on the night!Come experience our night time escapade, the Windfall Full Moon Trail Run! There's no better time to experience a great summer night outdoors in San Diego. As bright as the moon will be we still require all runners to bring a headlamp or flashlight for safety. Have fun with it though, make yourself as light and bright and funky as you want! You won't want to miss this! Too all you ultra runners - this is a perfect event for ultra runners to practice their night running skills for longer ultra runs!
The Courses
We will be marking 4 distances with reflectors and reflective markers. We have a 5k loop as well as a 10k loop and if you decide you want to run both that's 15k! For the truly brave night runners looking for a challenge doing them twice is a full 30k! The trails are mostly single track trails with ups, downs, and some technical footing which can be challenging in the moonlight. These are private trails that can't be accessed except for during our events.
Camping
Camping will be available on site and will open at noon on the day of the race. Camping is free in the large open fields of the ranch. Dogs must be leashed at all times. The ranch dogs roam freely and we don't want to have any issues. Porta-potties and water available. Camping opens at 4PM.
Aid Stations and Goodies
All of our aid stations will be reflective and aglow so they can be spotted easily on the trails! Our aid stations will be stocked with fluids, fruits, and snacks. After the race there will be water and sodas.T-Shirts will be handed out with bib pickup, and all completion goodies will be handed out at the finish line. We will have division awards in all distances.

Course Description
The majority of the Cuyamaca 100k course lies within the boundaries of Cuyamaca Rancho State Park approximately one hour east of San Diego. The course consists of three distinct loops, all of which start and end at Camp Cuyamaca off of Highway 79. Each loop covers a different set of trails with minimal backtracking and repetition. The first and longest loop of 31.5 miles traverses the western side of the park from south to north and approaches the summit of the park's high point, Cuyamaca Peak, at 6500'. The second loop is 12.6 miles, and takes in the southeast corner of the park near Oakzanita Peak. The final loop of 18.3 miles brings runners through northern section of the park, briefly leaves the park and enters Anza Borrego, and travels along the PCT overlooking spectacular desert views, before returning to Cuyamaca's northern meadows and returning south to the finish. The 2026 Cuyamaca 100K is a 2027 Western States qualifying race.

About
If you love the mountains, the challenge of a good, long climb and quad-pounding descents, then The Peak is for you. Running mostly along single track trail with spectacular views, The Peak climbs Cuyamaca Peak—San Diego County’s second highest. The 50K and marathon routes take you up on a 2,200 foot climb over the initial 6.5 miles of the course, then drop you down 2,800 feet to the Green Valley Aid Station and marathon turnaround. 50K runners do a short loop back to Green Valley, then join marathoners on a return trip that takes you back up to the top of Cuyamaca Peak for a total elevation gain and loss of 10,000 feet. The half marathon follows in the footsteps of the marathon, climbing up the challenging Conejos Trail, then reaching the Peak before dropping down to a fast finish.
