Teen Challenge Springboard is a residential home for girls 12-17. Our 4-6 month faith-based program focuses on holistic healing for our students and their families.
Our 5k will be a Fun Run where you can either walk or run. This is a great event for families who want to involve their kids while also supporting a local non-profit! Following the race, there will be a short presentation of who we are and some current students' testimonies. Food will be provided during this time as well.
We are including a theme this year! A run inspired by John 4:14 – Spring up! “Living water that never runs dry.” We want to emphasize the truth that the Lord is our ultimate living water, and we will never run dry when we run to Him for our satisfaction. So, with this, please note that we will have water elements throughout the event!
Sign up today and be a part of transforming the life of a teen girl in need!

FROM THE PAST:
DAMION ALEXANDER PHOTOS: One of our event sponsors and good friends is Long Realty's Damion Alexander. Check out this awesome video from Damion: he spent all morning on his bike, then all of Sunday evening putting it together -- it's a lot of fun...Check out all of Damion's photos at The Tucson Photographer smugmug account.
(We are super grateful to Damion for all of his efforts on behalf of the endurance community -- not only does he spend hours on the bike at our races, but he then spends hours at the computer fixing and fiddling with the photos. On top of that, he is a bike volunteer at Sabino Canyon and El Tour.)
JOHN HARRIS PHOTOS: On the TMC Tucson 10k race registration page you can check out the photos put together by John Harris. John is a student at the UArizona and an assistant Cross Country Coach at Salpointe, where he was a standout runner. The Jingle Trail races continue the healthy holiday themed legacy of running in Tucson and Vail. Mica Mountain High School and the Mica Mountain Cross Country Program aim to engage the community in promoting healthy lifestyles and community engagement. We are proud to help partner with the local community, Vail School District Transportation Department and collect toys for Toys for Tots. This year we'll attempt to pack up a Vail School District bus with over 500 new toys for our local community. Every registered runner/walker is requested to bring a new & unwrapped toy for donation. Our Cross Country team and school would like to thank you for considering coming to this event, being a part of the Mica Mountain collaborative culture, and helping to brighten the holidays for those around us.
The Mica Mountain Cross Country team will be out on course throughout your Jingle Trail experience to help direct you, cheer you on from the start to the finish line, and help you enjoy your morning. The course will primarily be on the Mica Mountain Cross Country course with a few potential modifications. The race will be chalked/coned, have railroad ties denoting borders of pathways as well as having Mica Cross Country athletes pointing you in the right direction. The race will start and finish on the school track (which is new and awesome!) and include "Thunder Hill" to the southwest and the "Rolling Thunder" hills behind the visitor bleachers. A link on this website will take you to a MapMyRun simulation of the race.
A 2021 "Day of Service" with many stakeholders helped improve the terrain including 10 truck-beds filled with pecan shells from the Green Valley Pecan Company. This natural material is a challenge to run on but will naturally become a part of our course over time. During May 5th, 2023 over 50 students helped weed, level, widen, and lay over 30 tons of decomposed granite on sections of the course to make it even better than before. On May 12th, 2023 Cross Country athletes and district employees traveled to Bisbee to collect 100 railroad ties to help better section off the path in hopes of making things ever clearer and faster for all. During the Day of Service (5/3/24) students removed weeds from the course to keep it tidy. Course terrain varies from the fast start and finish on the school track, asphalt sections, dirt, grass, and hills with something to challenge even the most seasoned of runners! This fun event is a great sampler of high school Cross Country! We hope you decide to come
spend the morning with us and encourage you to spread the word to family and friends...and don't forget the toy donation for Toys for Tots!
