The first One Hour Track Run was held in 1983 as part of Grand Prix II. This run took place in Russellville at the Arkansas Tech University track. The One Hour Track Run was eliminated after one year as the Grand Prix was trimmed to a core of four races for most of the 1980's. Later incarnations of a One Hour Track Run were located in El Dorado and later Camden, Arkansas, and were a Grand Prix staple in the 1990's. After 1998, the One Hour Track Run ceased to be run until the Long Distance Running Committee decided to revive it as part of the 25th Running of the Grand Prix in 2006. Fittingly, the One Hour Track Run returned to Russellville for Grand Prix XXV, and was held at the Russellville High School Track.
The course is a standard, 400 meter track. Very Flat! Aid stations every 1/4 mile!
ONE HOUR TRACK RUN WILL BE AT Russellville High School, Russellville,AR 72802
ENHANCED SECURITY FROM RPD WILL BE PROVIDED DURING THE RACE AND IN THE PARKING LOTS
