    The Spring Fling has been run in Cabot since 1996. From 1998 to 2001, the race was part of the Arkansas Grand Prix Series. After a five year absence the Cabot Country Cruisers brought the race back into the Series starting in 2007.

    Directions to the Starting Line

    From US-67/167:Take Exit 19 and drive east on Highway 89/Main Street which will turn in to E. Pine Street. Turn left on N. Lincoln St/Highway 38 at Cabot High School and the Panther Stadium parking lot will be on your right about a 1/4 mile. You can also park in the High School lot just west of the Field House off of E. Pine St. Please DO NOT PARK in the Field House Parking lot on Bellamy Street as this is part of the course. The race starts on Bellamy St just outside the Field House.

    Packet pickup, pre-race waiting, and awards ceremony will all take place in the fine arts auditorium this year. Nothing will take place inside of the fieldhouse. This is the same as it was in 2025. Start, finish, and food remain in the same locations.

    Course Description

    The Spring Fling course starts on Bellamy Street, just outside of the Cabot High School Field House. The route heads south for 1/4 mile before turning left onto Main St. The race moves into a tree-lined residential area, and turns south onto Honeysuckle Ln. The runners will curve along this road, merging onto Linda Lane and continuing south to reach the 1st mile marker. Just after beginning the 2nd mile, the course turns runners south onto G street for a small loop before returning to Linda Lane to head back to the north. Once the runners have returned to Linda Lane they will pass the 2nd mile marker. The third mile returns the runners to Honeysuckle, Main St and then north on Bellamy to pass the starting line. The route then turns into the Field House Parking Lot and turning down the ramp to enter the Stadium. The course turns left on the track where runners will hit the 3 mile marker just before the back turn leaving runners just the turn and a short straightaway until the finish line.

    PLEASE NOTE: Use restrooms inside the stadium before walking up Bellamy to the starting line, OR inside the lobby of the auditorium. There are NO bathrooms at the top of the hill/starting line.

    VERY IMPORTANT: We will have pre-race packet pickup from 5-7 PM on Friday, March 20th, 2026 at the Cabot High School Fine Arts Auditorium. We highly encourage you to pickup your packet early. You may pick up for others with a copy or picture of their photo ID. All other packets will be picked up by participants on RACE MORNING between 6:30-7:45 AM at the Cabot High School Fine Arts Auditorium. If you arrive after 7:45 AM to get your packet, you will not be permitted to race. Please arrive in plenty of time to come pick up your packet, get your bib on, and take your shirt back to your car!

    Race day registration will be available only if we have not exceeded our cap of 500 5K runners on race day, cash or check only made out to Cabot Country Cruisers! Race day registration will be $35 for the 5K and $20 for the 1K Kids Race. Pre-registration on RunSignUp closes on 3/19/2026, Thursday evening at 2:30 PM. No shirts will be guaranteed after the deadline. Please register early!

    No strollers or dogs will be allowed on this course for safety reason. No exceptions.

    This is a FREE 6 week training program for EVERYONE - all ages and abilities to learn to run or walk for exercise.

    This is a FREE 6 week training program for EVERYONE - all ages and abilities to learn to run or walk for exercise.

    Clinics will meet twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:00 PM behind the Cabot Administration Office near the tennis courts. You can park at any of the nearby parking lots but please do not park in the tennis court parking lot as that is where we meet and warmup. 602 N Lincoln St in Cabot.

    The first clinic session will be Thursday, April 2nd with an informational meeting. Last clinic session will be a graduation 5K and cookout on Thursday, May 14th.

    Training groups are as follows, please register for the group that best fits your needs. We have a group for all paces:

    Walker A - Your goal is to train to walk up to 3.1 miles walking a casual pace.

    Walker B - The duration of the faster walking intervals will increase weekly, improving your pace. Your training time will increase to 40 minutes in the last few weeks of the clinic.

    Beginning Runner Group A - For those who currently don't run - Starts with 15 seconds running - 3 minute walking intervals.Your goal is to train to run/walk up to 3.1 miles.

    Beginner Runner Group B - For those running minimally - Starts with 45 second running - 2 minute walking intervals and want to complete a 5K.

    Intermediate Runner - Your goal is to train to run consistently up to 3.1 miles. You currently run at least 4 minutes before taking a brief walk break, and you are able to do these intervals for up to 30 minutes total.

    Advanced Runner - Currently can run for 30 minutes non-stop. Your goal is to increase running endurance and run at a faster pace. Group will learn running skills to improve your running, and incorporate speed work.

    Ages 10-14 may participate in clinic when accompanied by a parent where the parent stays with the child at all times in the same group.

    Ages 15-17 may participate in a separate group than their parent with their parent still being present at clinic.

    No strollers, wagons, "wheels" of any kind will be allowed. Dogs are not allowed at clinic.
