    The 5K Bunny Hop is an event created by Move Montgomery to promote wellness in the River Region by encouraging Montgomery residents to live healthier, happier lives. The run/walk will allow participants to exercise at their own pace while staying healthy and having fun! This year's 5K Bunny Hop is being hosted by the world class Montgomery Whitewater!

    Registration for the event is FREE! There will be a run shirt for the first 300 registrants that pick-up their race packet prior to the run.

    AWARDS

    The overall top runners (M/F) and first in 5 year age group divisions (M/F) will receive awards!

    FOOD BANK

    In light there is no race entry fee, please make a monetary donation to the Heart of Alabama Food Bank. DONATE TO FOOD BANK

    ABOUT MOVE MONTGOMERY

    First Lady Tamika Reed launched the Move Montgomery Task Force to help Montgomerians stay physically fit and prioritize wellness. Alabama has the sixth-highest adult obesity rate in the nation, and the sixteenth-highest obesity rate for youth ages 10 to 17. It is an issue that is especially prevalent in central Alabama counties, like Montgomery. Obesity is linked to many known medical issues which can be better managed or mitigated with weight loss and routine exercise.

    MONTGOMERY WHITEWATER

    After the run, plan to stick around and enjoy the exciting activities and delicious dining at Montgomery Whitewater. They are offering a 20% discount on the Adventure Pass, a 10% discount on a single activity, and 10% discount at Eddy's Restaurant and Bar to race participants. Race participants need to show proof of participation with a race bib, t-shirt, medal, or trophy.

    PACKET PICK-UP

    There will be a race packet pick-up on Friday, April 3rd, from 2 till 5 in the breezeway adjacent the Outfitter Store at Montgomery Whitewater. Please stop by to pick-up your race bib/shirt prior to the run and avoid the long lines on Saturday morning as it promises to be a large gathering for this fun event!

    PLEASE NOTE:

    1. PACKET PICKUP: We will only have race bib and shirt pickup on race day. Please arrive by 7:30 AM at the latest to pick up your bib.

    2. PARKING: The Grove MGM will provide parking instructions closer to the date of the event.

    Join us to celebrate The Grove MGM's first year in Montgomery! The Grove supports young women transitioning out of Foster Care in Alabama. They provide dignified, affordable housing and support to bridge the gap between the foster care system and independence. Your participation and/or donation goes towards maintenance of the newly-renovated space and sponsoring the current and future young women who call The Grove their home. You can visit thegrovemgm.org for more information.

    On Saturday, 18 April 2026 we will have a 5K run/walk starting and ending at The Grove MGM at 559 S Hull. The 5K will begin at 8AM, but please arrive by 730AM to get pumped up for the fun!! The run/walk will take runners and walkers through the historic streets of downtown Montgomery. Along the course, you will see the Alabama State Capitol building, the Rosa Parks Bus Stop and Court Square Fountain, the Rosa Parks Museum and the Davis Theater, The National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and The Mothers of Gynecology Park.

    After completing the 5K, stay and fellowship with members of The Grove community in our lovely outdoor gathering area, enjoy some refreshments provided by our sponsors, and shop in Grove Books, located on the lower level of The Grove, and specializing in books on compassion, healing, empathy, and transformation.

    We will have coffee, snacks, and a food truck. Bring the family for this meaningful day of hope and restoration.

    All finishers of the 5K will receive a participant medal.

    47th running of Montgomery's Jubilee Run.

    Come join the excitement of Montgomery’s longest standing competitive running event! Montgomery Jubilee Runs are now set for May 16th, 2026 This iconic Montgomery event features competitive runs/walk on a 8K USATF certified course and the Peggy Lanier 2-Mile. The Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) has bestowed the designation of Alabama 8K State Championship for this race!

    The River Region Runners' Club is proud to plan, organize, and host the 2026 Montgomery Jubilee Run in its 47th year. This year's event will raise funds for the Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches. The runs will be staged from historic Old Alabama Town.

    The 8K running event attracts runners from all over the River Region, Alabama, and beyond! State running records have been established at many of past Jubilee Runs and promises to add more to the record book. In addition to the 8K, there will be a 2-mile run/walk in honor of Peggy McLendon Lanier.

    Race Information:

    Courses: The USATF 8K (AL19019JE) certified course will be well marked. The 8K (map) and 2M go through historic downtown Montgomery and the surrounding neighborhoods with an exhilarating downhill finish to Old Alabama Town!

    Aid Stations: Water stations will be located along the courses.

    Traffic: Traffic control will be provided by the Montgomery Police Department.

    Chip Timing: The 8K and 2-Mile runs/walk are chip timed events. All awards are based on race gun time per USATF Rule 245.1.

    Race Packets:

    Race packets will not be mailed. They will be available for pick-up May 15th (3 - 6 p.m.) at Old Alabama Town (301 Columbus Street) and on race day, May 16th, from 6:00 a.m. until 7:15 a.m. Only late packet pick-up on the day of the race for registered runners. Packets will contain your official race number and Jubilee Run shirts.

    Race Numbers:

    Race numbers must be worn visibly on the front of the runner for the duration of the race. Failure to do so can result in disqualification.

    Results:

    Race results will be posted as soon as available on the RunSignUp Jubilee Run website, Montgomery Jubilee Run Facebook page, and riverregiontiming.com. Individual results will also be sent to your cellphone/email if you selected that option when you registered.

    Notices:

    Shirt Notice: To be guaranteed an event shirt, you must pre-register online or with mail-in registration form by 5/8/26. Runners who sign up at packet pick-up or on race day are not guaranteed a shirt. Any leftover shirts available at packet pick-up will be offered on a first come first served basis.

    Cancellation Statement: This event will occur rain or shine. The Jubilee Runs reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In the event of cancellation, there will be no refunds.

    The Montgomery Regional Airport is excited to host its second annual Runway 5K. The MGM Runway 5K is on a closed course located on the airfield with roughly four miles of runway. Racers will run on Taxiway Bravo, Delta, Echo, and Runway 3-21 south, which are all located beside our active Runway 3-21. Runners will have a chance to run beside aircraft and get a close-up view of aircraft landing and taking off. The uniqueness of this event allows runners to experience the airport grounds, amazing views of the MGM terminal and participate in a 5K race like no other! You must register as a runner to participate. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult. Children 5 and under free with registered adult. The race will be limited to the first 500 participants. Early registration is encouraged! Registered participants will be able to run or walk the runway.

    SEPTEMBER 6th 2025 7:30am – 10am

    Enjoy a fun morning race to support local schools and spend time with friends and family!

    Top 3 awards to be presented as follows:

    overall male, overall female, & age groups (0-18,19-30,31-50,51+)

    5k -$35 includes T-shirt & participation medal

    10k- $45 includes T-shirt & participation medal

    (all race fees include T-shirt (up to cutoff date 8/25) and medal as well as contribution amount to MPS Special Education additional amounts can be donated at time of signup or at the event we will also have a school supply donation drop at the event as well)

    Awards Ceremony/Closing to Start promptly at 10 am and course cutoff will be the same.

    Please no walkers for the 10k, walkers are welcome on the 5k but will still be held to the 10am cutoff.
