Get ready to tease your hair, pop that collar, and bust a move at Montgomery Whitewater’s first annual Sadie Hawkins Shuffle 5K & Polar Plunge, presented by MAX Credit Union Saturday, February 14th.

Hearts will be racing as runners hit the trail for the Sadie Hawkins Shuffle: a 5K run that’ll get your adrenaline pumping faster than dancing to a Bon Jovi power ballad. Lace up those high-tops, grab your date, and moonwalk your way through a course that’s got more rhythm than an 80’s mixtape.

Turn up the tempo with the Polar Plunge, where the dance floor meets the shoreline. Big hair meets cold water as you and your Valentine run hand-in-hand into an icy beat drop. It's heart-pounding, unforgettable, and guaranteed to mess up all that Aqua Net.

The Polar Plunge is included in 5K entries. Registration for Polar Plunge only (no race, no t-shirt) is $15.

Plan to make the trip to Lagoon Park’s Pete Peterson Lodge in Montgomery, AL to be a part of the 5th Beaver Trail 5K. The Beaver Trail 5K will take runners on the beautiful Lagoon Park Trails, Montgomery’s outdoor adventure area! After the race, runners will enjoy complimentary post-race refreshments and the awards ceremony. All the proceeds from this event are used for the maintenance of and upgrades to the Lagoon Park Trails, one of Montgomery's hidden gems!

(Float) Race Day begins on land with the Hootenanny 5K at 10:00 AM, followed immediately by the 1-Mile Fun Run at 11:00 AM. Both races are open to participants of all ages, making it the perfect Spring event for friends and family (of both the two and four-legged variety).

The 5K Bunny Hop is an event created by Move Montgomery to promote wellness in the River Region by encouraging Montgomery residents to live healthier, happier lives. The run/walk will allow participants to exercise at their own pace while staying healthy and having fun! This year's 5K Bunny Hop is being hosted by the world class Montgomery Whitewater!

Registration for the event is FREE! There will be a run shirt for the first 300 registrants that pick-up their race packet prior to the run.

The overall top runners (M/F) and first in 5 year age group divisions (M/F) will receive awards!

First Lady Tamika Reed launched the Move Montgomery Task Force to help Montgomerians stay physically fit and prioritize wellness. Alabama has the sixth-highest adult obesity rate in the nation, and the sixteenth-highest obesity rate for youth ages 10 to 17. It is an issue that is especially prevalent in central Alabama counties, like Montgomery. On Saturday, 18 April 2026 we will have a 5K run/walk starting and ending at The Grove MGM at 559 S Hull. The 5K will begin at 8AM, but please arrive by 730AM to get pumped up for the fun!! The run/walk will take runners and walkers through the historic streets of downtown Montgomery. Along the course, you will see the Alabama State Capitol building, the Rosa Parks Bus Stop and Court Square Fountain, the Rosa Parks Museum and the Davis Theater, The National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and The Mothers of Gynecology Park.

After completing the 5K, stay and fellowship with members of The Grove community in our lovely outdoor gathering area, enjoy some refreshments provided by our sponsors, and shop in Grove Books, located on the lower level of The Grove, and specializing in books on compassion, healing, empathy, and transformation.

We will have coffee, snacks, and a food truck. Bring the family for this meaningful day of hope and restoration.

47th running of Montgomery's Jubilee Run.

Come join the excitement of Montgomery’s longest standing competitive running event! Montgomery Jubilee Runs are now set for May 16th, 2026 This iconic Montgomery event features competitive runs/walk on a 8K USATF certified course and the Peggy Lanier 2-Mile. The Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) has bestowed the designation of Alabama 8K State Championship for this race!

The River Region Runners' Club is proud to plan, organize, and host the 2026 Montgomery Jubilee Run in its 47th year. This year's event will raise funds for the Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches. The runs will be staged from historic Old Alabama Town.

The 8K running event attracts runners from all over the River Region, Alabama, and beyond! State running records have been established at many of past Jubilee Runs and promises to add more to the record book. In addition to the 8K, there will be a 2-mile run/walk in honor of Peggy McLendon Lanier.

Courses: The USATF 8K (AL19019JE) certified course will be well marked. The 8K (map) and 2M go through historic downtown Montgomery and the surrounding neighborhoods with an exhilarating downhill finish to Old Alabama Town!

Aid Stations: Water stations will be located along the courses.

Traffic: Traffic control will be provided by the Montgomery Police Department.

The Montgomery Regional Airport is excited to host its second annual Runway 5K. The MGM Runway 5K is on a closed course located on the airfield with roughly four miles of runway. Racers will run on Taxiway Bravo, Delta, Echo, and Runway 3-21 south, which are all located beside our active Runway 3-21. Runners will have a chance to run beside aircraft and get a close-up view of aircraft landing and taking off. The uniqueness of this event allows runners to experience the airport grounds, amazing views of the MGM terminal and participate in a 5K race like no other! You must register as a runner to participate. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult. Children 5 and under free with registered adult. The race will be limited to the first 500 participants. Early registration is encouraged! Registered participants will be able to run or walk the runway.

Don’t let your race shoes collect dust this summer. Come out and better your 5k and brunch game with the Sunrise Social Club at the River Region Runners sponsored (R3) Wildcat Summer Cup in downtown MGM. Every second Sunday this summer at 7AM we’ll host a 5k at a unique location. Come for the race, stay for the BYOB potluck brunch.

One payment of $20 buys you a bib for the entire series. That’s three 5ks for $20!

The course will be marked and hand timed and very unofficial. Runners will be responsible for keeping their bibs throughout the summer and bringing them to race day. Pickup will be available each race day and sign up will continue for the summer. Let’s all get a little faster this summer while eating more doughnuts.
