Supporting "Care for Alzheimer's"
The 12th Annual CMSAF Binnicker Memorial Run presented by Eglin Federal Credit Union will benefit the memory care wing at Air Force Enlisted Village's assisted living residence, Hawthorn House, where military widows, retirees, veterans, and their family members with Alzheimer’s and dementia reside. Every dollar raised from this event will provide care and support for the residents there. We feel this would make CMSAF#9 Binnicker proud.
Event History
The inaugural CMSAF James C. Binnicker Memorial 9K was held in August of 2015 at Bob Hope Village in Shalimar, Florida. The idea for the event was suggested by Airmen from nearby Eglin AFB who were participating in the Air Force Marathon. The Airmen wanted to honor CMSAF Binnicker while training for their upcoming marathon. Since CMSAF Binnicker served as the 9th Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, it was only fitting the event was a 9K run.
About CMSAF Binnicker
CMSAF#9 James C. Binnicker served as the Air Force Enlisted Village's President and CEO from 2000 to 2015. Binnicker believed the residents should be treated with respect and dignity. He created The Mom Rule, which all employees still use today when working with residents or making decisions regarding their care. Binnicker's vision brought many additions to the Bob Hope Village campus to include the Garden of Hope, the Bob Gates Welcome Center, and Hawthorn House, an assisted living residence with an option for memory care for residents with Alzheimer's and dementia. Binnicker served as the 9th Chief Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force from 1986 to 1990. Read more about Binnicker here.

Intro Rougarou Running is introducing the highly-anticipated return of Live Oak 50K in a supported run through Biloxi and Ocean Springs, MS. The route will include a run past the iconic Biloxi Lighthouse, along the beach boardwalk and over the bridge to Downtown Ocean Springs, Front and East Beaches, and the sublimely peaceful Gulf Islands National Seashore State Park. The route returns to the start in downtown Biloxi for the finishers' party at Altered Reality Brewing. This isn't like a typical road marathon with water stations each mile, but very well-stocked stations will be available along the route and beverages and a meal at the finish. Course and Aid In 2025, Live Oak received overwhelming support from local runners manning the park pavilion station and Ainsley's Angels setting up a wildly fun station on Front Beach. AA is returning again in 2026 to support our ultra runners. Rougarou Running and Live Oak Ultra is a supporter of Ainsley Angels and has and will accommodate the Ainsley
Athletes and the support crew. I cant say it better than their website can, so please visit the Ainsley Angels page to read about their organization. The mission of Rougarou Running events is to keep entry fees low so please consider donating an additional amount to Ainsley's Angels when you register. Additional donations will be accepted race day.https://ainsleysangels.orgHalf-Marathon Course File Link https://www.strava.com/routes/3430688412462428936 50K Course File Link https://www.strava.com/routes/3448768046708646986 br />Please download the GPX file to a phone map app like Gaia, and also to your watch if it has that capability. Pocket-sized turn cards will also be provided at check in and posted online. This is an urban route and designed to limit turns or confusion but navigation and awareness is necessary. There will be neon tape marking along the route indicating turns but don't expect to see signs. Ocean Springs is a very pleasant and runner/cyclist friendly town and this is a
safe route with relatively low traffic. Look for section and turn descriptions to be posted in the next few weeks. You are welcome to have personal crew assist you with aid along the route or you can utilize gas stations, cafes, or the famous Tato Nut Donuts on Government St. There will be approx. 6 aid locations with water, Hammer Nutrition (Heed and Gels), and typical fruit and snacks. We may also provide some extra food options if you want something with more substance. There are also random public facilities along the route. You will have 10 hours to complete the course. Some wiggle can be given on the finish line time since we'll be around until evening socializing, but we'd like to not have volunteers waiting around excessively at the later stations. Do your best and make consistent progress. We will do all we can to make sure you get your finish.Aid 1/6 - miles 7.1 / 28.2 - Golden Nugget (unmanned water only), Aid 2/5 miles 9.8/25.6 - Ainsley Angels, Ft Maurepas, Front Beach Dr -

Taxes and Ultrasignup fees cannot be refunded. If we have a waitlist, I'll give a refund race week as long as there is someone to fill your spot.
