The Bessemer Recreation Center is proud to announce its 2nd Annual 5K Run! This event plans to bring the City of Bessemer's communities and neighboring area closer together for a fun-filled day of exercise! In hosting the run, we hope to raise awareness toward our beloved recreation center and the plethora of amenities that reside inside it!

Our objective is to promote a safe and welcoming environment for all ages to enjoy while building a supportive program for our fitness department through fundraising efforts.

Join us for the inaugural Rickney B. Hunter Miles for Minds 3K "Running for Healing & Hope" — a heartfelt race dedicated to raising awareness for men’s mental health while honoring the life and legacy of Rickney B. Hunter.

Taking place during Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, this event aims to break the stigma surrounding mental health struggles, especially among men, and inspire healing, hope, and open conversations. Whether you walk, run, or cheer from the sidelines, your presence helps bring mental health awareness to the forefront and honors those we love.
