Let's Run Through The Russell Forest!!
The Russell Forest Run is a race that carries runners on a certified course over sand, clay, and gravel roads that were designed for runners, bicycles, and electric cars. The scenic route will still start at Russell Crossroads, and will still take runners near Kob’s Knob, up to Heaven, and back to the finish line near The Stables at Russell Crossroads. The 10K will start promptly at 7:45am with a machine gun blast from the Town Green at Russell Crossroads. The 5K, also an out and back, begins at the Town Green and will start with the machine gun blast soon after 10K. Of course the finish line is near The Stables, the home of our post-race party, where you'll find our World Famous Grits Bar, live music and more! Packet Pickup for both runs is Friday, February 27st and Saturday, February 28nd at The Discovery Center in Russell Crossroads. Please follow the registration signs. Please be aware that there are no pets allowed on the course during the Russell Forest Run. Yes we all love our fur
babies, but for their safety and for runner safety, we ask you to leave them at home! Need more info - http://russellforestrun.com/
Looking for a fast, certified race with a great chance for a PR? This event is for you! This race is great for carbon shoes too!
Starting at Black Creek Park in Fultondale, AL, this marathon & half marathon will be held on the Five Mile Creek Greenway, a rails-to-trail project located 15 minutes north of Birmingham. Runners will race through the Cities of Fultondale, Gardendale, and Brookside on this relatively flat, fast course.
The event is a USATF certified (Boston Qualifier), chip timed and fast! We venture to say it is one of the fastest marathon and half marathon routes in Alabama! Take a look at the results tab we held on this course back in 2020 and 2024-2026 to see for yourself how fast this course is!
