The KRC Kids Half Marathon is BACK! Hosted by KRC, this event encourages young runners to log miles virtually toward a half marathon distance of 13.1 miles. Each participant may enter miles they run or walk beginning April 11, 2026, ending with the final mile around Ward Lake on Saturday July 11, 2026 at 8:00am before the Southeast Slosh Half Marathon.
The KRC Kids Half Marathon is open to children 14 years and younger.

Participants may complete all 13.1 miles virtually. Virtual only finishers will be recognized with a social media post (with parent/guardian permission.)

Participants of the Final Mile event are not required to be part of the virtual portion and can participate without having logged any previous miles.

All participants of the Final Mile will receive a finisher's prize and there will be an additional give away for those who participate in the final mile event and have logged 12 or more miles in the virtual event by July 11, 2026.

1 mile begins at 10:30 a.m.

Kayhi's Rotary Interact Club & Ketchikan Wellness Coalition present one of our favorite fun run/walks! This event is in support of Mental Health and Suicide Awareness. Come early to enjoy face painting, fresh-squeezed lemonade, meaningful mental health and suicide awareness resources, and the chance to write on the back of your shirt for who/what you’re running for. This celebration is about more than just an event, it’s about supporting one another and sharing our stories.
Join us in running or walking one lap around Ward Lake on April 26th. In-person registration and activities will begin at 1:30pm. See you there!

Hills from Hell is back!! Think you can conquer the biggest hills Ketchikan has to offer? Come test out your calf strength and claim your bragging rights.
Race day is Saturday, May 16th at 9:00 am at Alder Park. Registration is $15 (+ processing fee).

Hills from Hell starts at Alder Park on Bryant Street. The course runs up Bryant to Buren Ave to Fairview Ave, continues on Fairview to Jackson Street. Heading down Jackson Street, using the stairs to reach Tongass Ave. Take 2nd Ave, the immediate left off of Tongass, to White Cliff Ave and turn right to reach Tongass Ave again. Follow Tongass Ave to the Elliott Street stairs and head up to Water Street. Follow Water Street to the Schoenbar bypass and head up the hill! Follow Schoenbar Rd to turn left onto Park Ave and follow as it turns into Deermount Street. Head up to toward the Landfill on Ketchikan Lakes Road/ Nordstrom Drive. Turn around at the cone and head down the hill, retracing the Deermount/Park Ave route, continuing down Park Ave, taking a sharp right onto Bawden Street. Head up Bawden, turn right onto Pine, left onto Forest and once you return down the hill the finish line awaits!
NOTE: Due to Tongass Ave construction, there may need to be modifications to the route. Updates will be provided on the Runsignup page and via social media.

IT'S BACK! Come celebrate the Summer Solstice with a midnight 5K! Get dressed up Saturday night, June 20th and come out to win the best men's, women's and Fool's Fool costume contest! This fun run and walk begins and ends at Madison Lumber and Hardware. Register online through 6/19/26 or come see us to register in person at the Rec Center Friday 6/20/26 from 6-7:30pm.
All registrants will receive a colorful fanny pack with the KRC logo on it!

And so it starts - The Southeast Slosh!
Join us for Ketchikan Running Club's Second Annual Trail Half Marathon on Saturday July 11th. The race will start and finish at Ward Lake and incorporate surrounding trails including Perseverance Lake Trail, Ward Creek Trail, Pipeline and Salvage. There will be 4 aide stations along the route. All racers will have 5 hours to finish the race. (That is about a 21:30 minute mile - plenty of time for walkers!) After the cut-off time, racers can finish the course, however aide station support and finish line celebration cannot be guaranteed.
Cost is $50 (+ processing fee), $45 for Ketchikan Running Club Members
Individual runners, as well as relay teams (up to 4 runners in a team), are welcome to register. Each team is responsible for determining where they will start and finish each leg of the relay.
Bib pick-up will be at the Ketchikan Rec Center - Friday, July 10th from 5-7 PM. There will be registration at Ward Lake, but it will be cash only.
Please follow trail etiquette, stay on the trail, please don't litter, be respectful of other trail users, and have fun!
Ketchikan Running Club has been granted a Special Use Permit through the Tongass National Forest Service to make this race possible

Blueberry season is here and Ketchikan Running Club is pleased to host the Blueberry Fun Run races which include a 1 mile fun run, 5k, and 10k. The 2026 race continues with the authentic start line on Grant Street, by Ketchikan Police Department.

ATTENTIONSizes and quantities of giveaways are only guaranteed for participants who can register before July 11th!
Please understand that we are required to order well in advance for customization and shipping time. We do our best to accommodate everyone and hope you will consider registering early to secure your size!
Register online through Thursday, July 30. Bib & shirt pick up, as well as in-person registration, will be available on Friday July 31st, from 4:30-7:30pm at the Rec Center. Last minute bib pick up will be available for all events from 7:00-7:30 race morning at the starting line. Due to our earlier start time, we will not have day-of registration - please plan accordingly.

Run like a beast before you feast!!
Celebrate the end of the 2026 running season with a family friendly event this Thanksgiving (11/26/2025) at Ward Lake. We will be hosting a 1-mile (~1.4 mile - lap around the lake) and a new 5K fun run. The 1-mile fun run will begin at Ward Lake at 9am and the 5K will follow at approximately 9:30am.
