EMERSON'S DUNEDIN MARATHON

The 46th Dunedin Marathon running and walking races, organised by Caversham Harrier and Athletic Club in Dunedin, New Zealand will be held on Sunday 13th September 2026 consisting of 6 events:

• Full Marathon Run

• Half Marathon Run

• Half Marathon Recreational Walk

• 10 km Run

• 10 km Recreational Walk

• 5 km Fun Run and Walk

Just annouced: The ASB George Street Mile

Taking place on Saturday 12 September, the day before the Emersons Dunedin Marathon, George Street will be lit up by flying milers racing through the central city.

The ASB George St Mile will incorporate mile races for all, including the Kids Mile, Social Mile, University Mile and the NZ Mile Championships.

Championship races are open to registered members of Athletics NZ-affiliated clubs in the Under 20, Senior and Masters grades.

The Kids, Social, and University miles are open to all runners, joggers, walkers, and legends. Enter via the Emerson's Dunedin Marathon entry form or visit the Athletics New Zealand website for more information.

Emerson's Dunedin Marathon Course Information

All events will again finish going down the Ward St ramp, after crossing the railway bridge overlooking Emerson’s Brewery.

• The marathon will start at the Portobello Recreation Reserve, head northeast up the peninsula, turning around between Penguin Place and Te Rauone Reserve, then heading back to the city to finish outside Emerson’s.

• All the other courses start at a location close to the finish overlooking Emerson’s.
