WELCOME TO SOLAR POWER NZ SKEDADDLE, A TRAIL RUN FOR NATURE!
We would love to have you join us on Saturday 25 April 2026
Taking place at the majestic Island Hills Station, Solar Power NZ Skedaddle is one of the most well loved trail events on the calendar! With nature at the heart of the event, all proceeds go towards conservation efforts for the Mandamus Reserve Charitable Trust which includes the largest QEII Open Space Covenant in Canterbury.
The race consists of five distances; 42km, 30km, 15km, 10km and a kids 4km!
The courses are all point-to-point along stunning singletrack through the privately-owned Island Hills Station.
Aptly named after the highest point on the property, Mt Skedaddle (1704m), it’s time to take flight for nature!

Located just five minutes north of Amberley, Mount Cass Station sits where the Waipara wine region meets the rugged Pacific coastline. This dramatic landscape is defined by impressive limestone outcrops, big hills, and bush-filled gullies, creating a challenging and visually striking course. Expect sustained climbs, technical descents, and constantly changing terrain, all rewarded with epic views across the Waipara district, Mount Grey, Pegasus Bay, and back toward Christchurch and Banks Peninsula. A true highlight for runners who love tough trails and big scenery.
Complete all four events in the Winter Trail Run Series to be eligible for series awards, presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and distance.

The Graveler --- Saturday 13th February 2027 The Graveler is a 132km unique gravel bike race held in New Zealand that offers a distinct experience for participants. While it is ideally suited for gravel bikes, riders can participate on any type of bike, gravel, mountain bike (hardtail recommended) or “e-bikes in a non-competitive section”. The race begins just outside of Hanmer Springs at the intersections of Tophouse, Clarence Valley, and Molesworth Roads. From there, the route follows Molesworth Road towards Molesworth Station, encompassing some of the most picturesque and seemingly barren landscapes in New Zealand. Riders will cross the Waiau Toa/Clarence River and continue up the Acheron River until reaching the Severn Confluence. The journey continues along the southside of the Alma River bypassing Tarndale and heading to Sedgemere Lakes. From there, riders will proceed onto Rainbow Road, which leads back to Hanmer via Rainbow and Tophouse Road, following the Waiau Toa/Clarence River
again. The route also passes by St James Homestead before returning to the starting point and concluding the ride by heading down Clarence Valley Road to finish at the Hanmer Springs Domain. It's worth noting the cautionary advice about the fast downhill section on Clarence Valley Road from Jacks Pass to the Finish. The Graveler is a true gravel race with 99.7% of gravel, with only 400m of tarseal at the Finish, coupled with 1,724m of elevation, this race creates memories.
