Event options:

• 10 km (ages 14 +)

• Kids 2.5 km (ages under 13)

Parents or caregivers are welcome to accompany children in the 2.5 km race at no extra charge.

Location and course information:

• The registration area and start/finish line is at the Sumner Scarborough Clock Tower, 147 Esplanade, Sumner, Christchurch.

• Parking is available along the Esplanade.

• The course is a flat 2.5 km out-and-back on the Esplanade walkway. 2.5 km entrants will complete the course once and 10 km entrants four times.

• There will be one aid station offering water and Pure electrolyte drink.

• Pushchairs/buggies are permitted.

• Please be aware that the Esplanade will be open to the public during the event.

Pawsome Run

Woof, woof - Charlie here! I am the proud ambassador of the upcoming "Pawsome Run" event.

I am excited to invite all my fellow dog friends to join me for the "Pawsome Run" at the Canterbury A & P Park. This is our chance to show our humans how much fun running can be. Here are all the details you need to get those tails wagging:

Every Human competitor receives a Pawsome Medal when they finish and every Dog receives a Pawsome Dog Tag when they finish. I've also talked my humans into making some changes to make the event more exciting for us, with some obstacles to be added and those that want to be competitive, you'll also be timed and get your results.

Colour Zone Run (Festival) Sunday 22nd November 2026 Colour Zone Run (Festival) is just that, a Festival of Colour with heaps of Colour Zones throughout. At every Colour Zone you will be covered with Colour. Yes, this will be the most colourful event you will ever see and be in. There are colours from the rainbow plus many extras, this will be thrown, blasted and blown about throughout the run/walk. There will be colour throughout the run/walk/crawl - colour, colour, colour. You will be blasted with colour from all angles, or just get your mate or mates covered in colour. When we say blasted - we mean blasted - it will come at you from every angle.

The Christchurch Motorway Half Marathon will be held on Sunday, 28th February 2027, starting and finishing at Canterbury A&P Park.

Enjoy a fast, focused outing on the Christchurch Southern Motorway pathways with no vehicles on the course. The motorway hums beside you while you move in peace.

This event welcomes everyone—from first timers to elites. The fast, flat course is built for personal bests across the Half Marathon, 10km, and 5km.

You can run, walk, or hybrid, run a bit and walk a bit. There is a walking section in all three distances, and the Kidz Dash is a 2km run for young runners.

Start Times

• The start times are as follows:

• Wave 1 - 8:30am - All Walkers and Hybrid Participants

• Wave 2 - 9:00am - All Runners

• Wave 3 - 9:05am - The Kidz Dash 2km
