You might already be familiar with the Athens Half Marathon, but have you heard of the Poseidon Athens Half Marathon? 🤔 No worries if you haven't, we're here to introduce you to this Athenian race that rivals the grandeur of a Greek God! ⚡ At the end of April, you'll head to Athens and the Faliro Bay. From the port of Flisvos to the National Opera and the Ilisos River, you'll discover the capital of Greece from a new perspective 📐. It’s no coincidence the race is named after Poseidon, as you'll be running close to the water 🌊. Rest assured, this isn’t a triathlon! 🏊♂️ From the docks, you'll enjoy stunning views of the sea, all without getting wet... 🤩 Perhaps not entirely dry, though, as you might find yourself sweating quite a bit! 🥵

Mina started Running Late Athens because he needed running partners, not because the timing was right. In June 2024, he posted on Instagram looking for people to join him on Monday evenings around Zappeion and Kallimarmaro, and about 30 runners showed up. Now they gather every week at 8pm, locals and expats, fast runners and beginners, people whose schedules are messy and lives unpredictable. The crew's name is honest: it's about showing up when you can, running at a conversational pace, then sitting down over souvlaki while the night stretches longer. Running Late Athens treats movement as permission to belong, not as a test to pass.
