A former restaurateur closed his businesses and found himself searching for purpose. Running became the answer. In early 2025, he launched Hardpace in Madrid as a response to a simple truth: running should welcome everyone, not gatekeep. Starting from Café del Lago, a relaxed meeting point in the city, the crew grew from a personal need into something bigger. Today, Hardpace brings together runners of every pace and background for regular runs through Madrid's parks and streets. Multiple pace groups mean no one gets left behind. There's no hierarchy, no jargon, no judgment. Before and after each run, members gather at the café to share stories and build real friendships. Hardpace operates on a quiet conviction: running works best when it's about people first, pace second.
