Every Saturday at 11 a.m., the same ritual unfolds at Studio Alfie in Heidelberg. Runners gather to check watches, adjust laces, and trade weekend stories over steaming coffee. What started as three friends wanting to expand their small circle has grown into something the city didn't know it needed: a weekly appointment where movement meets genuine connection. Marvin, Tabse, and Twelli founded Running with Attitude in October 2024 with a refreshingly simple philosophy: come for the run, stay for the attitude. The crew runs 5 kilometers at a relaxed 6:30 per kilometer pace along the Neckar River, deliberately open to anyone regardless of experience level. No judgment, no pressure, just consistent forward movement and quality time afterward. Around 160 members now call the crew home, representing a diverse cross-section of Heidelberg's community: university students, professionals, LGBTQ+ runners, families, and international residents. The post-run coffee sessions often stretch well into the afternoon, creating space for friendships that extend far beyond running schedules. Studio Alfie serves as the gravitational center of the crew's social ecosystem, where the promise of connection shapes everything about how Running with Attitude operates.
