Back for the 3rd annual event, the 2026 Black Lung Ultra is set for September 12th, 2026. Nestled at the entrance of the David Thompson corridor through the Rocky Mountains lies the once bustling mining town of Nordegg, AB. With a rich history, excellent tourism opportunities and amazing hospitality, Coliseum S&E presents the opportunity to see Nordegg and her surroundings in all her beauty. A rugged 62km, 3 leg Ultra Marathon will test the best of the best. Named after the perils of working long shifts in coal covered darkness, The Black Lung Ultra Marathon will take you through a journey through history, along mountain ridges and through the friendliest community in Alberta.
The Black Lung Ultra Team- in great collaboration with Clearwater County introduce ⛏️ The Minor Miners Coal Run ⛏️
Registered Minor Miners will be granted the opportunity to run 1.8km through the Historic Nordegg Collieries - challenging themselves while putting their eyes on piece of national history.
If you are 15 years or younger, you are eligible to register to be a Minor Miner Coal Runner!!
