Bruges had no running community until June 2024, when Emmerson founded Bruges Running Crew at Gentpoort, one of the city's medieval gates. What started as a single vision has grown into a diverse group where teenagers run alongside retirees, all guided by six dedicated captains. The crew's philosophy is simple: connection matters more than pace. Running here is about meeting people, feeling welcome, and enjoying the moment, not just logging kilometres. Free to join and open to everyone, Bruges Running Crew meets at an easy pace that welcomes all abilities. The heart of the community beats strongest on Coffee Sunday, held every second Sunday at 09:30. Members gather at Stera plant bar for a medium run followed by good coffee and real conversation, turning a simple run into a chance to belong.
