Brisbane Social Run Club started in January 2018 with one goal: to bring people in Brisbane together through running. Isaka and Jo, the founders, took inspiration from run crews they saw around the world. The club is all about three weekly 5k runs with no pressure on pace—just good company. After each run, everyone heads out to a local bar or burger spot to hang out, eat, and celebrate together.
Run For It emerged in late 2020 when Cam Marsh gathered 200 Brisbane runners around a single conviction: service above self. Every Sunday at 7 AM, they explore shifting neighborhoods across the city, raising funds and awareness for lesser-known local charities that rarely capture public attention. No membership fees. Instead, participants donate what they can afford, making charitable running accessible to everyone. The crew welcomes all abilities with easy, moderate, and fast pace groups, creating space for parents pushing strollers, university students, LGBTQ+ runners, and competitive athletes to move together. Post-run coffee and conversation deepen friendships forged through shared purpose. What began as a pandemic-era impulse to reconnect and contribute has become a Brisbane institution proving that athletic pursuits gain meaning when connected to something larger than personal achievement.
