The Hume & Hovell Ultra utilises sections of the Hume & Hovell Walking Track, following a historic route taken by explorers Hamilton Hume and William Hovell on their 1824 expedition to Port Phillip Bay. Feel the magic of the native bushland as you run through the majestic mountains and pass historic relics along Burra Creek.
In 2026, there will be a 22km, 50km, 100km and 100km relay event. We are also adding an 11km event to allow even more opportunities for people to discover trail running!

The races at Hume and Hovell have generous cutoffs and we strive to be beginner-friendly. The 11km, 22km and 50km events are great for first-time trail runners, and the 100km, with 24 hours, is a great opportunity for those tackling the distance for the first time.
To ensure safety and reduce the risk of adverse events, participants in the 100km must have run a qualifying event- see more information here: https://humeandhovellultra.com/index.php/100km-ultra
It is possible that an unforeseen emergency, such as, but not limited to, a bushfire or floods, may prevent the Hume & Hovell Ultra proceeding. There will be no entry fee refunds to any entrant if the event is cancelled and /or significant parts of the course become inaccessible at the direction of empowered Authorities in the two weeks leading up to and including the event.
