5k Run Walk

Please join us on Saturday morning, May 23, for the 2026 Kick for Kenya 5K!

Run or walk for a cause - proceeds will be used to fund planning and execution of community development training and projects in rural southeastern Kenya in partnership with Kenya Kids (US-based nonprofit), the Touch Africa Child Education Project (TACEP, a Kenyan NGO), and other local Kenyan community partners. Funds raised will be invested where needed most, in particular to provide educational opportunities, improve public health, and address food and water insecurity. Our Kenyan partners' long-term vision includes construction and development of a community center with dedicated space for field staff offices, tutoring and counseling services, animal husbandry and agricultural demonstration plots, and hosting speakers/conferences for educational instruction and vocational training, as well as on-site housing for children or families in need and short-term international visitors.

Race Notes:

    Every journey requires momentum.

The First Push is the second event in the Zero Dark Thirty Run Series — a progressive program designed to take participants from their first mile all the way to a full marathon.

The 5K represents a powerful milestone. It’s where confidence starts to build, consistency takes shape, and participants begin to see what they’re capable of.

This event is run or walk friendly and designed to be welcoming to all ability levels. Whether you’re continuing from the 1 Mile or stepping up for the first time, this race is about forward progress.

All proceeds benefit the Zero Dark Thirty Foundation, a veteran-led nonprofit supporting veterans through movement, mentorship, and community.
