This race is just one part of the City of Kentwood's fun filled 4th of July Celebration! On Tuesday, July 4th, there will be a pancake breakfast, parade, carnival, live music, food trucks, and of course a firework display. The race will start and finish next to Kentwood City Hall and Fire Station #1. It will include a fun course throughout the local neighborhoods and along one of our paved trails. There will be hundreds of spectators along the race route as the start/finish line is along the parade which takes place directly after our race finishes. All participants will receive a finisher medal for this race. Shirts are guaranteed if registered before June 13th. If you register after June 13th shirt sizes can't be guaranteed but we will do our best to accommodate everyone. For the safety of all participants, no baby joggers, roller blades, dogs or bicycles will be allowed on the course. Make sure to hydrate before the races starts but if needed we will have water stations along the course.

Digital time clock at finish and Chip Timing!

What are your kids doing this summer? Not only will Fast Feet Running Camp help answer that question, but also your kids become better runners. Fast Feet Running Camp will be led by Coach Mike Wojciakowski (Woj), who is USA Track & Field Level II certified coach who has a passion to work with youth. Coach Woj has spent over two decades coaching cross country and track at Aquinas College, along with being the coach for RunGR.

The Fast Feet Running Camp offers kids (aged 5-12) an introduction to the fundamentals of track and field. The camp will give future track stars a chance to gain experience, knowledge and skills in a fun, energetic atmosphere. An overview of proper warm-up, stretching, and nutrition will be tailored to each age group and coupled with drills and exercises to increase motor development and to improve flexibility. The values of teamwork and sportsmanship will be encouraged in our daily relay races, while positive reinforcement will act as a catalyst for increased confidence. The camp will also feature a daily snack, cotton t-shirt, and entrance into RunGR’s Magic of the Mile, which will be held at on July 9th.

To ensure that each kid is able to get Coach's attention, each group will be limited to 30 kids. Ages 5 - 6 will meet from 3pm to 3:45pm and ages 7 - 9 from 4pm to 4:45pm and ages 10-12 from 5pm to 6pm on July 6, 7, & 8. Fast Feet Running Camp will take place on Aquinas College's campus in the Alksnis Athletics & Recreation Building. To be guaranteed a shirt, kids must be registered by June 28.

For more information, email Coach Woj at [email protected] or call 616.856.0130. Fast Feet Running Camp is another great event brought to you by RunGR!
