    All events will start at 9:00am this year!

    In addition to supporting a great cause, this event will also be a great time and a great opportunity to score some awesome race swag!

    And if you're not able to participate in the live event don't worry... we also have a virtual race and we'll ship your race gear at no additional charge and you can complete the run/walk virtually at any time and location that you choose!

    Join us for the 2nd Annual 1911 Initiative 5K Scholarship Run/Walk, where every mile you move helps us go the distance for college-bound students. Hosted in partnership with the Village of Matteson, this race is all about purpose, progress, and community pride.

    We’re proud to share that we’ve already registered over 100 runners and walkers, with a bold goal of 1,000 participants for 2026!

    Remember, we don't receive huge corporate dollars to do what we do. We are a grassroots organization and are funded by everyday people like YOU. Your support directly funds scholarships and paid internships, helping deserving young people prepare for brighter futures.

    Awards:

    Awards will be given for the top overall male & female and the top finisher in each age division, male & female.

    Registration Fee:

    $25 per person until noon June 8

    $35 per person after noon on June 8 until Race Day

    Post-Race Activities:

    After the completion of the race, stay for the awards presentation & DJ music. For the runners/walkers there will be healthy refreshments and water. The whole family are invited to attend the post-race celebration. All items are first come and will not be replenished.

    Giveaway Guarantee:

    Race shirts are guaranteed to runners who registered by Wednesday, May 20.
