Join us for the 29th Annual Race Against Domestic Violence to benefit Child Inc.

CHILD, Inc. has been serving the Delaware community since 1963. Our mission is to be the leading advocate for Delaware’s children. Through our prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, CHILD, Inc. strives to positively impact the children and families we serve to enable them to live fulfilling lives free from violence. Our programs meet the changing needs of families.

CHILD, Inc. is committed to helping solve the problems associated with domestic violence and child maltreatment through its community-based programs, safety planning with clients, including assistance with protection from abuse petition filings, and shelter services for children and families.

All proceeds from the Great Human Race 5k will be donated to the Annual Campaign for the Western Family YMCA. The YMCA of Delaware is committed to strengthening local citizens through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. As one of the largest non-profit organizations in the state, we are dedicated to serving everyone – regardless of age, income or background. With support from our community, we work every day to help ensure that people from all walks of life can enjoy the Y, especially those who would not be able to experience what we offer without financial support. Staff Sergeant Christopher Slutman was not only a loving husband, father, son and brother but he was also a FDNY Firefighter.

Sadly, while serving in the Marines, he was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.

Chris was an avid runner with his wife Shannon. Join us in honoring this American HERO by running or walking in his honor.

All funds from the event will be donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation which supports the families of fallen or catastrophically injured military and first responders and the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation which is building a memorial to honor our heroes on the National Mall.
