    What is Tri for Fun?

A family fun event to encourage youth ages 5-15 to participate in a Triathlon and HAVE FUN!

    Family Fun

From face painting to snow cones, this event will be a fun time for the whole family.

    Swag

Register by May 1st to guarantee your t-shirt. All finishers receive a Finishers Medal. Top female and male winners were awarded for 5-8, 9-11, and 12-15 age divisions.

Three Age Divisions: Ages 5-8, 9-11, and 12-15.

All participants will receive a medal commemorating the events. The top finishers will receive additional recognition and medals. To be eligible for top finisher awards the participant must complete the event without outside assistance. Examples of things that would disqualify an athlete from a top finisher prize include: not completing the entire distance in the pool, wearing of any flotation device, and physical assistance from parents while on the course. This is not to be seen as a complete list and ultimately a decision to DQ will rest with event officials.

Age Distances are based on recommendations by USA Triathlon. Click the "Course Map" tab to learn more.

We provide a Training event to make sure all children are ready to race. We will go over transition preparation, swim and bike safety as well as course overview! Stay tuned for more info.

A 5k race with 20 or more strength, endurance, and agility stations along the way! The course includes open field, woodland and shallow water running. Course is mostly flat with strength, endurance and agility stations located throughout.

Our Tough Oaks race has two heats, the first is the "Elite Heat" which is for participants who are looking to challenge themselves to strictly run the course and complete all of the required penalties for failed obstacles.

EX. Complete a 200ft walking lunge without stops. Failure to complete obstacle means 20 penalty burpees before moving on to the next obstacle.

We have adults, teenagers, and even some very athletic children compete in the Elite Heat.

The "Open Race" is more family friendly with scaling options and is untimed. Participants are encouraged to complete obstacles or do penalties however, it is not required. If a participant feels unable or is running with children and needs to scale obstacles or penalties, they are totally allowed. Families with young children participates every year and have a blast! For parents with kids under the age of 10, we ask that they run with their kids as some of the obstacles could be dangerous for younger children without adult supervision. We do have obstacle supervisors throughout the race to help direct and explain obstacles, but not to oversee child safety.

We stagger start (putting families with kids at the back) so no pile up or waiting around for obstacles occurs. We love to see family and friends come out to cheer the athletes on as they cross the finish line.

EMS with be on site during race

    Fees:

    Elite Heat: $50

    Open Race: $45

    Children 12 & under: $25

    3rd Annual Let’s Make Pink Just a Color 5K & 1.5-Mile Fun Run/Walk

In Loving Memory of Brittany Kelley (Founder)

On Sunday, October 18th, we gather to walk, run, and rally , not just for a cause, but for the woman who made this cause matter.

Brittany Kelley, the founder of Let’s Make Pink Just a Color, passed away on September 28, 2025, after a courageous fight with stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer. She was a mother, a fighter, a community builder, and the heart behind this movement. This year's race is dedicated fully to her memory, her mission, and the impact she made on hundreds of lives.

    Her Legacy Lives On

What began as Brittany’s vision in 2023 grew faster than anyone could have imagined.

In year one, over 400 participants helped raise more than $38,000

In 2024, we surpassed $50,000, all of it staying right here to support local patients

Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to provide:

    Chemo port access shirts

    Surgical bras

Drain bulb shower and belt holders

And new in 2024: meals and weekend getaways to help families spend meaningful time together during treatment

Brittany’s dream was simple but powerful:

To make pink just a color again, not a symbol of pain or loss, but of love, hope, and healing.

This Year, We Run for Her

Join us as we walk and run in her honor. As we carry her message forward.

As we remind the world that pink doesn’t define us, people do.

Every dollar raised continues to go straight back into our local community, just like she wanted.

Let’s make this the most meaningful race yet.

Let’s make pink just a color, for Brittany.

Please note: This race will not be officially timed.
