Salomon Coast Mountain Trail Running (CMTR) hosts quality, challenging, professionally-run trail events in world-class destinations around BC's Lower Mainland and Thompson-Okanagan regions.

Run Ridge Run

A perfect training race for tackling the Diez Vista 50km in April.

For Run Ridge Run, both distances offer challenging climbs, descents and technicality that runners love from CMTR races. The 13km course will skirt around Sasamat Lake on the Buntzen Ridge Trail and glimpse Buntzen Lake, while the 25km course will continue on to attack the Diez Vistas Ridge before following Buntzen Lake back to the finish.

The start and finish lines are located at White Pine Beach, Sasamat Lake.

Registration closes at 575 participants.

$5 from every registration goes to support Coquitlam Search & Rescue. Additional donations welcome. As well, one tree will be planted locally for every registration, in partnership with a Fraser Valley Indigenous Lands rehabilitation project.

Our Kids Race is a ~1km run designed for ages 3-10 with special bibs and finisher stickers. Registration is free, and is available online, or on race morning. During registration, we offer parents the opportunity to donate to Butterfly Support Network, a local organization that supports families dealing with pregnancy and infant loss.

NOTE: Most CMTR events now offer ITRA points; UTMB points are no longer available

On May 31, 2026, Mikey’s Run returns to Burnaby Lake for its second annual event, building on the incredible success of its inaugural year.

With the support of participants, volunteers, and donors, the first Mikey’s Run brought people together on the trails around Burnaby Lake and raised over $100,000 in support of mental health awareness and resources.

Mikey’s Run exists to create space for connection, conversation, and support around mental health — an issue that affects individuals, families, and communities everywhere. The event honours the memory of Mike, an avid runner who trained regularly on these trails and who quietly struggled with mental health challenges.

In 2026, participants will once again come together to Break the Silence, One Step at a Time. The event will again include a 10 km run, a 5 km run/walk, and a kids’ run, welcoming people of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re running, walking, or simply showing up, Mikey’s Run is an opportunity to move together, remember together, and continue making a meaningful difference.
