Gene Parks Annual 5K Walk/Run

Join Beck's for our seventh annual 5K run/walk on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Designed to promote health and wellness, Beck's 5K is a great opportunity for you to get OUT and get MOVING while connecting with the local community and raising money for a great cause! Over the last six years, with your help, we've raised nearly $250,000 to benefit Rock Steady Boxing, American Institute for Cancer Research, Team Rubicon, K9s for Warriors, We Care for Orphans Fund, Safe Haven Baby Boxes, Human Resources Center of Edgar and Clark Counties, Best Buddies International, Bravely Women's Health, Little Angel Gowns and the Indiana Donor Network Foundation.

Our event is stroller and fur-friendly, so bring your leashed K9 sidekick to run/walk alongside you!

Packet pick-up will be held Friday, June 5, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in front of Beck's Research Building on the north side of 276th St.

Race day registration and packet pick-up will be available from 6:30 a.m. - 7:15 a.m. EST on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

The 5K Run/Walk will start at 7:30 a.m., followed by the Kids Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. (or immediately following the completion of the 5K, whichever is earlier). Age group awards will be presented around 9:00 a.m.

The 2026 Cicero Triathlon is happening Saturday, June 13 in Cicero, IN! This popular event is perfect for all ages* and abilities - from beginners to veterans, and everything in between!

All ages* and abilities can choose between the Triathlon, Duathlon, Aquabike, or Triathlon/Duathlon Relay (2-3 people).

Highlights include soft-style shirts, plus overall, age-group and division awards! We also offer a $5 Refund Referral Program for recruiting other registrants!

*Must be at least 14 on December 31, 2026 to compete

Shirts & Awards

Register by Thursday, June 4 to be guaranteed an awesome, softstyle T-shirt. Shirts come in Unisex sizing - choose accordingly when registering.

The Haynes Apperson 5K race will be located at the downtown Kokomo Family YMCA located at 114 North Union Street. Parking is located in the parking garage adjacent to the YMCA. The race will start at the Kokomo Family YMCA and go through Foster Park, UCT, Kokomo Beach and back on the Walk of Excellence Trail that will lead back to the Kokomo YMCA.

All registrants who register by Saturday, June 6th 11:59pm will receive a short sleeve t-shirt.

Shirt pickup will be Friday, June 19th from 12:00pm - 6pm and Saturday June 20th from 7:00am - 8:00am at the Kokomo Family YMCA.

Registration deadline is Friday, June 19th at 11:00am. NO DAY OF REGISTRATION

Please meet at the YMCA start/finish line arch at 7:50am and await for further instructions. Runners will need to be closer to the front and walkers towards the rear. WALKERS MUST WALK THE ENTIRE RACE.

Come join us in Cicero the morning of Saturday, July 4th to run or walk for an important cause! Be sure to wear your best patriotic attire on this special holiday to be entered to win a prize! Registration and check in will be 6:30-7:30am with the race events beginning at 7:30am. We will be in the parking lot of Cicero Christian Church for the start line!

We are raising money for Selah's Grace Ministries, a local nonprofit that supports families experiencing pregnancy or infant loss and the local hospitals that serve them. At our event each year, we have been able to raise enough money to purchase Cuddle Cots (bedside cooling units) to donate to local hospitals as well as several "Selah Boxes" which are special hand-crafted bereavement packages to help care for parents on their grief journey.
