Sarett Spring Stampede Race Information

The Spring Stampede will offer an in-person "LIVE" race option for 2026

The funds raised from this event will help Sarett Nature Center continue to provide environmental education programs for over 25,000 school children each year.

At 8:30 am, the kids’ 1-mile fun run will start. $1 is the entry fee for the fun run and all participants will receive a finisher’s ribbon. You can drop off your entry form at Sarett or mail it to: Mike Mahler at Sarett Nature Center, 2300 Benton Center Rd., Benton Harbor, MI 49022. You can also register on-line at https://runsignup.com/sarettspringstampede .

Race packets and t-shirts can be picked up at the nature center on Thursday and Friday, April 2nd & 3rd from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and on race morning starting at 8:00 am. Members of Sarett Nature Center and the SWMI RACERS receive a $3 discount. The Spring Stampede is a part of the SWMI RACERS Community Race Series.

About This Event

This unique 5K run and walk will take advantage of Sarett's nature trails. The funds raised from this event will help Sarett Nature Center continue to provide environmental education programs for over 25,000 school children each year.

Event Schedule

  • Early Packet Pickup on Thursday and Friday, April 2nd & 3rd from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Nature Center)

  • Race Day Packet Pickup (Saturday April 4th): 8:00 am

  • Kids 1 mile fun run (Saturday April 4th): 8:30 am

  • 5K Run and Walk (Saturday April 4th): 9:00 am

Entry Fees

  • Early registration fees - $20.00 until March 14th (11:59 pm)

  • Registration fees - $25.00 from March 15th until April 2nd (11:59 pm)

  • Late Registration fees - $30 on April 3rd and April 4th.

  • Same Day Registration will be available for 2026 - Participants must use Cell Phones to register on the Race Site.

  • Tee Shirts cannot be guaranteed after March 20th or on Race Day

T-Shirts

  • T-Shirts are guaranteed for pre-registration participants before March 20th. T-Shirt availability after March 20th will be on a "first come, first serve basis". Please register early!!

Kids 1 Mile Fun Run

  • Kids 1 mile fun run entry fee is $1 and all participants will receive a finisher’s ribbon.

    This is the 22nd anniversary of the Lory's Place Run, Walk and Rock to benefit Lory's Place, a Grief Healing and Education Center. Every year, Lory’s Place is honored and grateful for the community’s support of Run Walk Rock. All of the programs and services at Lory’s Place are available at no charge. That means that no child or adult is ever turned away because of an inability to pay. The children, adults, and families who are part of Lory’s Place join us in expressing deepest gratitude to you for supporting our mission of grief healing.

    Since the opening of Lory’s Place bereavement programs in 2004, we have been honored to support over 63,000 children, teens and adults and after the death of a significant person. Our programs reach beyond our facility doors offering over 60 peer support groups in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties.

    Group Discount:

    If you are registering a group of four or more participants, you will receive a $5.00 discount per registrant. If you have a large group of people, please give us a call for additional registration options.

    Parking:

    When arriving at the event take Momany Drive and turn left on Upton, proceeding to any available Whirlpool lot. Please do not take Upton/Klock Road (at the stop light).

    Rocking Chair Raffle:

    Feeling lucky? Drop the tag from the bottom of your bib into one of the raffle boxes at the registration tables for a chance to win a classic white Rocking Chair. All ages are welcome to enter—everyone has a shot!

    $50/person for National Race Series. Finals will be at Midwest Canine Obstacle Run June 6th, with awards following the event. Everyone will get swag- I plan on a cool logo, decals for car, shirts that show locations on a map, series medals, dog apparel and more. Still working on sponsorships, but plan on having Series Sponsors. We will have overall Mens and Womens awards, Masters Mens and Womens (50+), and would like to start a junior division with enough interest.
