Join us for the popular Athens Fair 5K Run/Walk that takes place in downtown Athens as part of the Annual Athens Fair. This year is the 16th running of the popular mid-summer run. The 5K starts at Memorial Park, (in front of the Beer Tent) routes through the scenic Erbach Park trails and finishes on Kreutzer Street at in Downtown Athens, next to the grocery store, Main Street Market. The race is made possible by the following local businesses and organizations.

  • Local businesses generously sponsor the giveaways including T-shirts, finish line snacks and beverages, water stops, and awards.

  • Registration proceeds support the many activities of the Athens Fair

  • Members of the Athens Area Trail Association manage the race. Donations can be made on the donation page to support the trails.

The in-person option provides chip-timing for participants that cross the starting line between 8:30 - 9:00am. Virtual participants that would like to compete for a medal, will be asked to upload their customer route & time verification by Friday evening May 29th 11:59pm. Awards will be available at the event to in-person participants on race day and mailed the following week to virtual participants. As always, we encourage you to bring your favorite four legged friend out with you!
