The Irving Marathon Running Series is an exciting place to connect with the DFW community and promote your cause or business! Join the movement and connect your brand with the running community in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. With eight events a year, thousands of runners will get to know you and your brand with the multiple sponsorship opportunities available! Centrally located between Dallas/Fort Worth and DFW Airport and Love Field Airport, making it an attractive destination race for runners across the country. With runners representing 18 nations to date, the Irving Marathon is truly an international event while retaining its local, neighborhood appeal.

    Nothing wrong with pints and pets so are celebrating National Pet Day! Come sip, sit and stay and with us, after your run/walk of course! And yes, pets are welcome, but if you are planning to bring something other than your dog or cat, please give us a heads up!

    BONUS Alert! Following the social run/walk and until 1:00 PM, you will be able to pick up your race packet for the MIGHTY Velvet Hammer 5K too!

    Go at YOUR pace, run, walk, skip, whatever you like the goal is to show up and have fun. Bring a friend or make new ones at the social run. The three miles is on a trail near the brewery! Check-in is between the hours of 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. You can start your run/walk whenever you would like or join the 'group' start at 8:30 AM and run with the group! The rolling start allows you a choice, flexibility to go at your pace but please arrive by 9:00 AM (check in ends promptly at 9:00 AM, thank you!).

    Along the trail there will be mile markers out, and bottled water available to take with you (there is no water on the course) or bring your own filled water bottle.

    The social run includes the run/walk, a custom branded pint glass, three brews and tacos from THAT TACO DUDE. The three Peticolas brews can be enjoyed anyway you want, meaning, you can drink all three in the Taproom as drafts or have one draft and then take two cans TO GO or in any combination of three.

    SOCIAL RUN SCHEDULE

    8:00 AM-9:00 AM: Check in and start the social run/walk (rolling start between 8:00 AM-9:00 AM) OR

    8:30 AM: “Group” Start (for those who want to run with a group)

    9:30 AM: That Taco Dude Breakfast

    10:30 AM: Social run raffle

    NOTES & TIPS

    Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 8:30 AM we are dropping the HAMMER! Registration includes a gender specific, dry fit style race shirt, finisher medal, the second in a three-year series, leading up to our 10th anniversary, finisher glass and three draft brews from Peticolas Brewery! Food trucks will be on hand selling food, the band will be on stage and you will be running or walking and enjoying a great day at the 9th annual Velvet Hammer 5K!

    Don't want to run, but just want to join the party? We got that covered too with the new PARTY PASS which includes the race shirt, glass and three draft brews!

    We are also excited to announce our Run Club Challenge! Yep, we are calling all running clubs in DFW to compete for a happy hour at Peticolas! We will be awarding the fastest and the largest running clubs in the race!

    Race Day Schedule

    • 7:00 AM - Event opens

    • 8:30 AM - Velvet Hammer 5K Start (don't be late, the start line is only open until 8:35 AM)

    • 9:00 AM - Treble Hook hits the stage

    • 10:00 AM - Awards
