    This amazing race on Saturday June 13, 2026 at 8 am will run through the beautiful and historic Fondren neighborhood in Jackson, MS. The race will start and stop at Broadmeadow UMC park (4419 Broadmeadow Drive, Jackson, MS 39206).

    PACKET PICKUP is Friday, June 12 4-6:30 pm at Broadmeadow UMC, or race morning beginning at 7 am. Onsite registration available. Day of registration $55.

    MS Capital City Pride's mission is to provide safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community while advocating for their needs and intentionally creating opportunities to mentor emerging leaders in the Jackson Metro area.

    The vision of Capital City Pride is to build a community of people with diverse gender identities and sexual orientations who are united, visible, and equal with all Mississippians.

    Whether you are a seasoned runner or participating in your first-ever 5K, we are committed to giving you the very best experience we can!     Start/finish line: The race will begin and end at the Community Center at the corner of North Jackson Street and Lee Avenue. Water and fruit will be waiting for you at the finish line. Bring your swimsuit to jump in the city pool and cool off after the race! Click here to see the 5k run/walk route.

    Driving directions:

    The Lee Avenue Community Center is located at 505 Lee Avenue at intersection with North Jackson St. Directions: 1.) Exit 72 on I-55 drive east to Hwy 51, South on Hwy 51 to N Pat Harrison Dr. Watch for signs. Race day parking will be near Community Center on North Jackson St. 2.) Lee Avenue Exit on Highway 27 Roundabout – drive into town and arrive at Community Center & parking field. Volunteers will be onsite to direct you to parking. Note: Some streets will close 30 minutes prior to race start.

    Parking: Volunteers will direct you to parking. Parking is available at Lee Avenue field next to swimming pool and at the parking lot on North Jackson Street.

    Bathrooms: Bathrooms are available at the community center pool. Port-a-johns will also be onsite.

    Pre-race packet pickup:

    Anyone who registers by 8 p.m. on Wednesday June 24 may pick up race bag on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the gazebo in Railroad Park, located at the corner of West Georgetown Street and West Railroad Avenue in downtown Crystal Springs.

    All other racers may pick up their packet on race day at the Lee Avenue Community Center.

    Race t-shirts: deadline to be guaranteed a t-shirt and desired size is Friday, June 19, 2026. Remaining t-shirts will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis at packet pick up and during registration on race day.

    Awards & Age Groups: Ceremony begins after the Fun Run.

    The Summer Sizzler is the Signature Ride for Soul City Cycling - Major Taylor Cycling Club. Ride distances include 24, 35, 46, and 62 miles with plenty of rest stops to keep you refreshed and hydrated! Registration fee includes: ride, swag, and post-ride meal. Participants must be registered by June 1st in order to ensure you receive an event T-shirt & Medal.

    Friday "Soulshine Special" Ride, July 10th

    Meetup @ 6:00pm, Wheels down @ 6:15pm

    There will be a group ride on Friday night, especially those coming in town for the Summer Sizzler. We will meet at 6:00pm at Soulshine Pizza in Ridgeland, MS (1111 Highland Colony Pkwy, Ridgeland, MS 39157) with wheels down at 6:15pm. It will be about a 20 mile ride through Madison County. We will break up into groups based on who is there, but this will be a no drop ride for each group. Feel free to hang around afterwards and grab a pizza and beverage. Route to be posted in the coming days.

    Remember we’re riding on open roads, so make sure to obey the rules of the road. Remember that front and rear lights are required.

    Sunday "NEXT DAY" Ride, July 12th

    Location: The Bike Crossing, 192 Old Town Crossing, Ridgeland, MS 39157

    Meetup at 6:45am, wheels down at 7:00am.

    If you're in the mood for a Sunday spin, then come out and join us for a ride on the north end of the Natchez Trace Parkway.

    This will be a 28 mile ride with varying paces. Typically the North Trace offers an easy 18-20 mph range with a few rolling hills on Yandel and Old Canton Road.

    The plan is to keep the groups together, HOWEVER, If you plan to go slower or faster than the pace mentioned, please download the route and bring a friend. We know a lot of you need to hit the highway, so any breaks will be short and sweet.

    Remember we’re riding on open roads, so make sure to obey the rules of the road. Remember that front and rear lights are required.

    During our past events, Soul City Cycling has donated portions of our proceeds to worthy causes, including Grace Place, a morning shelter for the homeless and marginalized in our community. This year and going forward, Soul City Cycling will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Mississippi Sickle Cell Foundation. As we move forward with future events and club activities, we will support the Mississippi Sickle Cell Foundation in their mission of “Breaking the Silence, Giving Voice to the Cause, Working to Find a Cure”.

    Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is the most common genetic disease in the United States. SCD affects approximately 100,000 Americans. SCD occurs in 1 out of every 365 Black or African American births. SCD occurs among about 1 out of every 16,300 Hispanic American births. Worldwide, approximately 300,000 infants are born with sickle cell anemia annually. About 3000 people are living with sickle cell disease in the state of Mississippi.
