The "Hidden Gem" of TRIATHLONS!

This sprint triathlon has been called "the hidden gem" of NJ races. It tours the surrounding area of Mountain Lake in Liberty Township, New Jersey. After a 1/4 mile swim in the pristine lake, get ready for some ups and downs in the 15 mile bike ride. Then finish off on the 3 mile run giving a view from each angle of the lake.This race can be done as an individual or as relay team of 3. And new to the race day events is a 3 mile run that will start just after the triathlon and follow the same course for the run as the triathlon does!

    The Ballet 5K and Tutu 2K is an annual fundraiser benefiting the New Jersey Civic Youth Ballet. The races will be held at the beautiful Hackettstown Riverfront Park on a mix of crushed gravel and paved bike paths. The course is flat, fast, and scenic with amazing views along the Musconetcong River.

    Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome. This is a kid friendly event!

    Male and female winners will receive a prize. Medals will be given out to male and female winners in the following age categories: under 15, 16-30, 31-45, 46-60, 61+.

    Find your favorite running tutu and grab your friends and create a team. The largest team will receive race day perks and the team that raises the most money will receive a prize!

    The 5-Mile and the 5k Race/Walk are both timed with awards and prizes. Check-in & Registration on the day of event will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Monroe County Bar Association at 913 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 and end at 8:45 a.m. with races beginning at 9:00 a.m. RAIN OR SHINE.

    Awards and refreshments after the race will be at the Monroe County Bar Association. Awards will be available for the following categories:

    1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall Male & Female

    1st Overall for Judge/Attorney, Male & Female

    Participants will have the option to run or walk this course, which is a scenic loop that passes streams, pastures, historic buildings, and the beautiful Musconetcong River on a mostly flat course.

    Medals will be presented to the first 3 male and first 3 female runners in the following age categories: 14 & under, 15-20, 21-25, 26-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, 51-55, 56-60, 61-65, 65+, as well as best overall.

    The Run for the River is an annual fundraiser for the Musconetcong Watershed Association (MWA). MWA is a non-profit organization formed by residents of the Musconetcong Valley in 1992. Our mission is to protect and improve the Musconetcong River and its watershed resources through education and outreach programs to local schools, landowners, and municipal officials. In addition, MWA conducts river cleanups and stream bank restoration projects.

    Funds generated by the MWA Run for the River will be used to support the MWA education program, River Watcher program, hiking and paddling trips, River Talks, and more.

    Registration and more information can be found online at www.musconetcong.org/run-for-the-river or by emailing info@musconetcong.org. Those who register before April 18 will have the option to choose a commemorative short-sleeved t-shirt and will receive a free swag bag. You can also register on the race day from 8:30 am to 9:15 am. Walkers start at 9:45 am, and Runners start at 10:00 am, rain or shine.

    Register early! The price will increase to $40 on April 19th, 2026.
