Acadiana Fitness is excited to announce that we will be hosting our 5th Annual "Dasher Dancer Prancer 5K" on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Warm-Up will begin at 7:45, race will start at 8:00am.

TO BE GUARANTEED A SHIRT, YOU MUST REGISTER ON OR BEFORE NOVEMBER 17, 2025

DEADLINE FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION IS TUESDAY DECEMBER 1 @ 10:00 PM

!!!!Registration will re-open ON SITE, on race day, from 6:30 to 7:40 AM. ($45.00 registration fee)

The run will be in conjunction with Carencro Country Christmas. After the race, stop in and partake in the Carencro Community Center's Christmas Activities.

This will be a fun family event for all. (COSTUMES ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED BUT NOT REQUIRED)

The run will begin at the Carencro Community Center. You are welcome to park there or next door at the Carencro Library.

MEDALS will be awarded to overall MALE and FEMALE, and to 1st and 2nd place in each age category

Do you want to run for a reason? Do you want to run to help save lives of children battling catastrophic diseases? Sign up and complete any race distance for Dasher Dancer Prancer, Jungle Gardens, and Zydeco Marathon to receive the exclusive Miles for Hope medal to be given on March 8, 2026, at Zydeco Marathon in Lafayette La. All of these races benefit St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Your participation is vital to ensure that families do not ever pay for treatment, housing, or food while their child is being cared for.

    Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish.

    Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.

    Challenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents, siblings, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches, braces, wheelchairs, etc. to be used by runners.

    Single Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab on the left side of the page for instructions). There is a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy.

    Awards: All participants receive a medal on Week 5! Trophies will be awarded to the overall top finishers in each of the divisions listed below (broken out by boys and girls respectively):

    At the top of every hour, participants will complete a 4.2-mile loop. When the hour is up, runners line up and do it again. The loop continues hour after hour—not until a set distance is reached, but until only one runner remains.

    The final runner standing must then complete one last solo 4.2-mile loop. If they don’t, the result is a DNF. Only one finisher. One winner.

    Lottery Entry Details

    • Entry is by lottery only

    • 60 participants will be selected

    • The lottery opens January 2 at 9:00 AM

    • The lottery closes January 4 at 3:00 PM

    • You will NOT be charged when you enter; payment is only collected if you are selected

    • Selected runners will be notified on January 5 at 5:00 PM

    Walk, run or stroll through the historic tree-lined streets of downtown Lafayette on the Saturday morning of Festival International. Cross the finish line with live music, food, beer! The Courir du Festival 5K, presented by b1BANK is a great way to show Festival support.

    -Build a team of friends, family or colleagues for a chance to win prizes! The largest team to register gets some special race swag!

    -5K Registration packets include a 2026 t-shirt, locally designed and printed.

    -The 5K route is a certified race for those runners with a more competitive streak.
