Sea Girt 5K & Kids' Races - 2026

It's our 30th year!

Join us for a seaside race on a flat, partially shaded course through scenic Avon-by-the-Sea. Clocks and water stops at each mile. Shirts guaranteed to first 1,500 registered runners. All runners automatically entered in post-race raffle. Raffle prizes include season beach badges to the Avon-by-the-Sea beach. All proceeds benefit the Avon Volunteer First Aid Squad.

The Avon Volunteer First Aid Squad is a not-for-profit, 501c(3) organization that provides emergency medical and rescue services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at no charge, to residents and visitors to Avon-by-the-Sea. It has provided these services since 1931. The squad is staffed by volunteer EMTs and relies entirely on charitable contributions for all operating expenses.

Schedule for Bib and Shirt Pick-up:

Early Number & Shirt Pickup (at Avon First Aid Building, 520 Main Street, Avon) Thursday May 28, 5:00 - 7:00 pm; and Friday May 29, 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

Late Number & Shirt Pickup (at the pavilion on the Boardwalk at Norwood Avenue, Avon) Saturday May 30, 7:00 - 8:30 am.

EXPECT LINES IF YOU PICK UP ON SATURDAY. Pick up Thursday or Friday if possible, to avoid the lines.

There will be NO bib / shirt pick-up on Wednesday.

Come run, walk or fly at the Superhero Sprint on Flag Day on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

We will have special flag day awards. Wear your red, white and blue.

You will be a true Superhero by helping support local charity Love, Parker.

There is an open 2 mile run or walk and a half mile event for those 12 and under.

Awards for top finishers and best dressed Superheroes.

All get a Superhero Cape and T shirt. Must register by 18 May 2026 to assure your t shirt.

The Rotary Club of Point Pleasant Boro is hosting its Annual Father's Day 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Whether you participate as a runner or sponsor, you will play a part in raising funds for various Rotary charities. We support local community-based organizations and veteran projects.

Awards given to top 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female overall finishers & the top 1st, 2nd 3rd male & female finishers in each age group.

The course is certified, flat and fast and hasn't changed since our initial run in 2008. Electronic timing will be provided by South Jersey Race Timing, LLC to insure that our participants get expedited results.

Post-race refreshments will be on hand. Please join us for this GREAT event for a WORTHY cause. Tax-deductible Sponsorship available! RAIN OR SHINE There is NO RAIN DATE scheduled.

Specialist Gregory Mitchell of Bravo Troop in the 102nd Calvary Unit has been selected as the SGT Nutter Run 2026 Beneficiary!

On Saturday, June 20, 2026, Class 69 of the New Jersey Army National Guard Officer Candidate School (NJOCS) in Sea Girt, NJ will host the 22nd Annual Sergeant Nutter 5K Run.

This event is organized by the SGT Sam Nutter Organization Inc (SSNO) in memory of the late SGT Samuel Nutter, to benefit the family of a NJ National Guard service member. We are asking for your help in aiding our Soldiers and their families in their time of need. This year's Beneficiary will be Specialist Gregory Mitchell, who was involved in a severe car accident in August of 2025 that resulted in multiple brain bleeds and a traumatic brain injury (TBI). All proceeds, sponsorships, and donations will directly support his continued recovery.

The 5K race will take place at the Army National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt, New Jersey. This year we are adding Youth run/walk 200 meter for kids ages 6 to 9 and 1/2 mile (800 meters) for ages 10 to 13. We will also be hosting a virtual run to allow all who wish to participate the opportunity to do so! On behalf of the Sergeant Samuel Nutter Organization, we encourage your support and thank you for being an invaluable part of this cause. You can support this cause by running in the race, donating, or becoming an event sponsor. Whichever you choose to do, know that you will be honoring the legacy of SGT Nutter during this year's 22nd annual 5K run. SSNO is a registered 501(c) 3 non-profit organization and 100% of the proceeds will be donated.

There will be an awards ceremony at the end of the event! We will be giving out medals to the following age brackets!

​Top 5 Overall Open Male and Female Win CASH Prizes (and the prize money has been increased this year)!

Age group awards: 5 year age groups - Top 3 in each age group win custom Sheehan Classic beach towels and other awards

Over $1300 in prize money for the top finishers (men and women): 1st Place - $200; 2nd - $150; 3rd - $125; 4th - $100; 5th - $75.

Individual ​Age Group Awards - custom Sheehan Classic awards to the top 3 in each age group.

Team Competition! We will have a special award for the Winning Team(s) in each category. The team categories are:

Men's Teams, Women's Teams, Masters Men (40+), Masters Women (40+), Co-Ed Teams

(we will score the top 4 fastest times in each category. Co-ed teams must have a minimum of 2 females.)

We will also have an award for the team with the largest number of entrants.

The top male and female Asbury Park residents each win gift certificates from HydraPatch!

Raffle at the awards ceremony, compliments of our local sponsors.

Awards will be presented in Bradley Park after the youth races.

FRIDAY BIB PICK UP

The Outpost Running and Walking Co., located at 32 Church Street in Little Silver.

4:00 - 7:00 PM

There will also be a free shoe raffle and other giveaways for those who join us on Friday at the friendly confines of The Outpost

We strongly encourage you to join us on Friday at The Outpost if at all possible to avoid the line on race morning.

RACE TEES

Soft cotton tie-dye Asbury Park Sheehan Classic shirts to participants, first 1,200 to pick up their bib/shirt!

The first 1,000 people to pick up their bibs on Friday and Saturday will also get a drink ticket for The Robinson Ale House

Charity Partner: Again this year, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County.
