Join us for This Month's Flagship Ride

    10:00am - 12:00pm

Meeting Location: 205 NE B St near Lawrence Plaza. Look for the WOZ Flags and tent. Don't forget to join us at the post-ride social starting at 12:00pm at Bike Rack Brewing!

We will have ride leaders for skill levels between Beginner to Advanced.

If you're new to mountain biking OR have never done a fundamentals skills clinic we REQUIRE YOU to start with the WOZ Fundamental Skills Clinic during registration. Regardless of your riding experience we feel taking this skills course from one of our WOZ certified instructors will help improve your riding and create a better riding experience for all.

What do you need to attend the Flagship? A mountain bike in good working order (contact a local bike shop for a tune up), helmet, closed toe athletic shoes, flat repair kit, water and snacks. We also recommend sunglasses for eye protection and gloves.

***Ride levels are based on YOUR CURRENT skills and endurance levels *** We want everyone to have the best and safest experience possible so we’ve laid out a “rating” system to help align you with the right ride group. Please review the skills, endurance, milage and proposed trails. Being in the right group makes a better ride for all.

At registration first choose your riding and fitness level, then choose the best description among the groups. Remember if you want to ride with a friend, register ASAP in the same Level AND Group # to ensure you'll be in the same group.

    Choose your group:

FUNDAMENTAL SKILLS CLINIC... this is the starting place

Select this group if you have never ridden a mountain bike, it’s been a little longer than you would like to admit, OR you've never taken this clinic before….. Welcome! You have to start somewhere and this is the place! Even the most advanced riders need to brush up on these essential skills. This Skills Clinic will cover the fundamental of mountain biking and then you'll hit the trail for a 2-3 mile ride.

    Skill Level 1

    Skills you can perform:

    Staying upright while pedaling

    Fitness Level- no requirement

    GREEN ….New

Riding with one finger over L & R brake levers

Getting to know berms (those are those turns with the dirt)

You can climb up Crystal Bridges hill without stopping, but give me a breather at the top!

BLUE ....Confident and Fit.... attempting rock gardens

The rides are getting longer and the pace quicker. Getting quicker out of berms you are confident in shifting, comfortable on single track and open to attempting obstacles. You’re getting the hang of Coler, riding most of Slaughter Pen, and may have ridden Back 40 or at least parts of it. Ride 9-12 miles.

You can climb longer with soft pedaling as a recovery instead of stopping

You can ride moderate pace for 2 hours with minimal stops

Intermediate skill group: here because you’re still working on upping the mileage and ride time. 15 miles or 3 hours might be my cutoff!

BLUE +... Confident, fit and ready for a 3hr ride

You’ve been riding for awhile now, put a lot of time and mileage in to riding confidently and tackling bigger challenges are a regular thing. You are comfortable with fast descents, rock gardens, more technical climbs and features. Ride 10-15 miles.

    Skills you can perform:

    Skill Level 5+

Comfortable with drops and changing technical terrain

    Hop over obstacles

Able to perform front wheel/rear wheel lifts (up to 6 inches as needed)

REGISTRATION: If you have a friend on the same ride level that you want to ride with make sure to register in the same ride level AND same group number (register ASAP to ensure this is possible). We will NOT be able to make any changes to groups unless you need to cancel your registration. This is all to deliver the best possible ride experience for each and every one of you! If you don't end up riding with your friends, don't worry, you'll have the opportunity to make new ones and see your other friends at the social afterwards. Win win!

Not sure which group to join? A great way to know if you are ready to advance ride levels is if you were able to keep up with the ride leader the entirety of the ride and felt like you could have continued at that pace for more. If you are still unsure on which ride might be for you just contact us…..we love talking bikes.

The Ride Series is different. Your expectations should be high as you enter the hospitality of our classroom setting. A comfortable Kijaro chair awaits your presence and the cover our 10x20 tents provides reprieve from the elements. Prepare yourself to be immersed in an environment that provides the perfect opportunity for you to be open to embracing and practicing the proper technique. Instant feedback from our coaching staff will have you progressing like never before! Are YOU ready??

    JUMP ESSENTIALS:

We get it, everyone wants to jump! However, most people don't embrace the technique AND psychology behind doing it well. You have to understand the what and why before you can start to build confidence with the how, that's what this session is for. Not only will you build a solid understanding of what NEEDS to happen, you'll also get plenty of reps working through the steps of how it needs to happen, all in a safe and controlled environment.

    Topics Covered:

Riders will get plenty of reps on multiple takeoffs/landings and Rich will work through multiple rounds of video so you can see exactly what's working and what isn't.

JUMP PROGRESSION Session: Ground School and All American Hero's Jumpline

This event is all about getting comfortable in the air. That starts with a solid understanding of what it takes to get into the air properly. It's also critical to get as MANY reps as possible in a controlled environment and that's what the TRS ground school setting gives you.

Rich will break down the dynamics involved with jumping a bike. Based on over 40 years of experience, he will guide you through his real world experience and provide key insight and cues on what to do.

After showcasing the proper technique, you'll work through a series of reps and the distance will incrementally increase as your comfort level increases. Analysis and feedback using slow motion video will have you "busting big" in no time.

There's no substitute for experience when it comes to jumping a bike. The only problem is that experience in the right setting can be hard to come by. You'll get tons reps on our jump lines and receive valuable feedback in the moment.

    RIDERS MUST HAVE:

    • Experience jumping

    • Full suspension bikes with suspension in working order

    • Full safety gear including pads (Full Face helmet not required, but suggested)

This class is intended for riders with jump experience and will move at a specified pace. Coaching staff reserves the right to hold riders to pre determined distances based on performance.

Please reach out if you are unsure if this class is a proper fit for you.

?? Are you ready to Drop the Hammer?

It’s one of Bentonville’s must-hit features — and if you’re tired of just staring it down, this 2-day event is built for you. 2 days, 6 hours, one goal…check that box! We limit this session to FOUR RIDERS, so one on one attention is abundant. Check out THIS video of the process.

    What to Expect:

?? Day 1 – 8AM - 11AM We’ll meet at Slaughter Pen and use both The Ride Series Ground School and the Purpose-Built Skills Park drops to dial in body position, timing, and technique — working progressively bigger throughout the session.

?? Day 2 – 8AM - 11AM We’ll start back at Slaughter Pen to sharpen up, then pedal over to Drop the Hammer to put it all together. After sending it, we’ll work on linking multiple drops with confidence and flow.

    You’ll leave with:

    ? Solid drop technique

? The mindset to tackle intimidating features

? The skills to keep progressing on your MTB journey

Is this for you? Well, only you can decide that…but we're gonna give you some guidelines ;)

    • You're consistently hitting the largest intermediate drop at the Skills Park

    • You're comfortable with the drops on Huntley Air Raid and Mad Hatter

    • You're ready to lock in both mentally and physically to check this one off!

*This session requires full enrollment in order to proceed.
