Race Location

Whether you run, walk, snowshoe, or just stand and cheer, you are invited to participate in the Snow Globe Run on Saturday, December 12, 2026, on Campbell Creek Trail behind the Peanut Farm restaurant at 11:00 AM. Not sure about running in the snow? Try our snowshoe race that will start at 11:15am!

There will be a Zoo Critters themed costume contest beginning at 10:15 a.m., before the start of the race, for those wanting to dress in costume. Prizes, complements of the Peanut Farm, will be given for best, Male, Female, and Group costumes.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Alaska Zoo.

Due to insurance requirements, dogs are not allowed at this event, and we ask that you leave them at home. Due to anticipated snow on the course strollers are discouraged but if you decide to participate with a stroller we ask that you start in the back.

Race Partner

The Anchorage Running Club is partnering with the Alaska Zoo for this race. A portion of the race fee proceeds, as well as all online donations will be donated to the Alaska Zoo. After the Snow Globe race runners can enjoy daytime admission to the Alaska Zoo by presenting the tear-off from their race bib. Offer valid during regular daytime hours only; Zoo Lights not included.

Course Information

The course start and finish line is on the trail and accessible via the Peanut Farm overflow parking lot to the south of the former Sourdough Mining Company. The course is a 4K out and back along the Campbell Creek Trail south for 2K and turns around. This is a flat course with little in the way of hills.

The AB Korkor Foundation is officially retiring the Five Fifty Fifty Run/Walk for Mental Health, a bold and inspiring initiative that began as 50 run/walks in 50 days across all 50 states. During the first two years of the event, the Foundation’s founder, Adel B. Korkor, personally ran in every one of the 50 events over 50 consecutive days, embodying the dedication, resilience, and urgency behind the Foundation’s mental health mission.

As the Five Fifty Fifty chapter comes to a close, the Foundation is excited to introduce its next evolution: the Steps For Strong Minds 5K Run/Walk, a family-focused mental health event designed to be more accessible, community-centered, and welcoming to participants of all ages and abilities—continuing the movement forward, one step at a time.

The Strong Minds Sprint is an exciting new 40-yard dash designed especially for kids ages 10 and under. This high-energy event encourages children to stay active while reinforcing the important connection between physical movement and mental well-being. Through fun, friendly competition, young participants build confidence, resilience, and healthy habits that support strong minds and strong bodies. We are thrilled to introduce this new addition and can’t wait to see our youngest runners take off toward a brighter, healthier future.

Join our movement and make mental health a priority in YOUR community! We encourage families to run/walk together and to make that easy, kids 13 and under participate for free. Please note that all participants must register, regardless of age, and youth must be accompanied by an adult.

Proceeds from this event directly support programs that promote mental health awareness and encourage physical activity for kids in your community, helping them build resilience, confidence, and healthy habits that last a lifetime.
