LASAA’s mission is to organize athletic events for our members, which include Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department employees and law enforcement officers. We aim to promote health, fitness, and camaraderie among our members.

The Mug Run series began in 1993. At that time, it was a small event with an average of just 10 runners per race, primarily attended by law enforcement personnel. Over the years, participation has grown significantly, expanding to welcome members of the public. Today, more than 300 runners join us, and the Mug Run continues to foster friendly competition and positive engagement between law enforcement and the community.

Each year, LASAA partners with Sheriff’s stations across the county to host a series of Mug Runs. Each station brings its own spirit, culture, and traditions to the event. This year, Altadena Station is dedicating their Mug Run to commemorating the two-year anniversary of the Altadena Eaton Fire.

One year after the fire blackened the ridges above our town, the inaugural Altadena Forever Run stands as a symbol of resilience and recovery. It honors those who were affected, those who responded, and those who continue working to rebuild and strengthen our community.

The Altadena Forever Run welcomes everyone. Your participation, sponsorship, and presence demonstrate solidarity, remembrance, and hope. Proceeds from this event will be directed to the Altadena Station Unit Fund to support community-benefit initiatives connected to the Eaton Fire Survivors organization, as well as programs supported by the Altadena Sheriff’s Support Group. LASAA’s part in the Mug Run series is to create meaningful, community-focused fitness events and transfer the proceeds to the station hosting the run. Altadena Station manages how this support is directed locally.

Eastside Traffic started in August 2022 when founder Eddie moved back to the Eastside of Los Angeles and discovered a local plaza with a track. When city traffic made reaching old running spots impossible, he built something new right where he was. The crew exists to make running accessible, build real community, and instill confidence, welcoming everyone regardless of pace or background. Rooted in Eastside LA culture, Eastside Traffic is grounded and tight-knit, with members who show up for each other physically, mentally, and unapologetically. Every Tuesday at 6:30 AM, the crew gathers at Liberty Community Plaza for Traffic Jams, a tempo track session that gets runners moving before the city wakes up.

Glendale Runners launched in November 2024 when two certified coaches noticed a gap in their city's running landscape: there were simply no weekday morning run clubs in Glendale. Built on a philosophy of free community wellness with zero fees or barriers, the crew welcomes around ten runners to Adams Square Mini Park every Tuesday at 7am. The coaches split participants by pace and skill level, creating an inclusive environment that works for everyone, whether you're chasing a personal record or rediscovering your running rhythm before work. After each 4.2-mile run, runners drift toward Kafn Coffee or head straight into their day, knowing they'll be back next Tuesday.

Blacklist LA started in 2013 with a radical idea: running could rewire how Los Angeles connects with itself. Founded on the belief that the city's sprawl is not a barrier but a canvas, the crew has grown to over 300 runners who show up Monday nights at 10pm without hesitation. Their philosophy is straightforward, running is a vehicle for community and cultural discovery. Every Monday night, they gather at Walt Disney Concert Hall and hit the streets toward the city's street art, turning late-night Los Angeles into a living gallery. Art, transit, and open roads are all fair game. For Blacklist LA, civic pride runs as deep as the miles.
