June of the year of 2020, Jaime Sherrick known as our Mimi was diagnosed with Stage Four Glioblastoma which is a form of Brain Cancer. In the face of Stage Four Glioblastoma, hope, faith, and strength become beacons of light guiding both Mimi and our family through the challenging journey ahead.

Mimi was full of life. Her beauty and kindness shined from the inside to the out. She loved people for who they were. She was caring, compassionate, a devoted mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Mimi truly had a gift to connect with people, understand them, and make them feel so special. This gift came from her faith and love for the Lord. She was the glue that held our family together, her smile lit up any room she walked into.

Mimi had undergone a total of three invasive surgeries as well as many rounds of Chemotherapy, Avastin, Radiation, and was involved in a Clinical Trial over the duration of just about three years. As Mimi battled this aggressive cancer she was abundantly filled with strength. At the initial diagnosis she was only estimated to have about 16 months to live though, Mimi overcame this obstacle, surpassing that time frame and fighting this aggressive form of cancer. Through these three years our family experienced hardship but despite it all there were so many laughs, “I love you’s”, and the very best memories made that we now cherish.

On February 3, 2023, Mimi was welcomed into heaven. We believe today she is walking the streets of gold and is completely healed! She fought hard and battled this cancer with hope and the belief that miracles do happen every single day. She is and always will be an overcomer!

Through unwavering faith in the resilience of the Lord and the power of medical research, anyone facing this diagnosis can find hope in the pursuit of innovative therapies and breakthroughs, just like Mimi did.

Together, united by determination and courage, anyone can embrace each day with positivity and a smile, fostering a sense of hope that goes beyond the limitations of any prognosis.

To anyone battling Glioblastoma, with advancements in medical science, the landscape of treatment options is continually evolving, instilling faith that breakthroughs may be just around the corner. In the midst of uncertainty, the unwavering strength of the Lord, combined with advancements in medical research, forms a powerful alliance against Stage Four Glioblastoma, lighting the path towards a future filled with hope and healing that miracles are happening.

And to our beautiful Mimi, we will always see you flying within the butterflies. 🦋
