    Race 1 of Alamo Beer Series Challenge 2026

    This is race 1 in a series of races that are to be treated as milestone training runs. We follow a 18 week training schedule designed for runners and running groups that are training for the San Antonio Rock and Roll Marathon and Half Marathon. These milestone races are designed to keep you on track. They are also used to allow you to meet everyone in the area that is training just like you.

    Each event gets longer in distance to fit into the half or full marathon training schedule. Each event will also have a 5k to allow any runner or walker to get in on the fun.

    This series of races was developed by trainers that wanted to teach their runners how to race. These races are designed to help runners know what to do on race day. How to get your packet, where to put your race number, and chip. What to do the day before, week before and race day. The pressure and anxiety of a race for runners can be daunting. By preplanning and rehearsing you as a runner will arrive at your goal race with experience to help minimize mistakes and problems.

    Sign up for this series if you are planning on running a half marathon or full marathon in the winter of 2026/2027.

    We’ve added a twist to this years race, adding an energy filled Relay Race. This is a Half Marathon 3-person relay to add more excitement and camaraderie to the beginning of running season. Get on your text group, and build your Team!

    If you are a trainer send us an email we want to get your entire group on board. [email protected]

    Some things to consider;

    If you finish make sure your time matching what your watch says and that your name is spelled correctly and your gender is correct and you are in the right age category.

    If you do not finish do not leave until you tell the timing people, because we do not leave until all runners are finished, we will have to go look for you.

    Don’t run with someone else’s number.

    Wear your number on the front of your shorts and do not bend the number as it has your chip embedded into the bib.

    We want you to have fun and here are a few things that might help.

    Show up with plenty of time to get your bib, go to the bathroom and get in line before the start of your race.

    Invite family and or friends and ask them if they would like to volunteer while you run.

    Being a volunteer for a couple of hours is an enjoyable thing, we promise they will love it.

    Bring a change of clothes and leave them in your car so you can get out of sweaty clothes and come back to the awards ceremony.

    Each race has it's own fun design on the ever loved super soft tri-blend race shirt (unisex)

    We continue to have non-profits involved and you will be able to donate to their cause when signing up.

    Charity Partners: We are excited to announce that our charity partner for the 2026 SARR Turkey Trot is Street2Feet. Stret2Feet mission is to promote health in mind, body, and spirit with individuals experiencing homelessness in San Antonio, using a walking/running 5K training model as medicine. $5 out of every paid 2-miler or 4-miler registration goes to our charity. You also have the option to donate additional funds at registration. SARR is also a Gold sponsor for the Street2Feet 5k coming next winter. Check out their website at http://www.street2feet.org/
