Hosted at Paradox Brewery in North Hudson, the Handlebarley Gravel Weekend features two incredible fall days of mixed surface riding in the southern Adirondacks. Best part is you can sign up to ride just Saturday, only Sunday, or make it a full weekend.

Regardless of the number of days you choose to ride, you're guaranteed some awesome dirt, equally amazing views and a whole lot of fun. The main event will be Saturday this year with fabulous 43-mile mixed surface route where we venture east of the brewery to Ironville for a stop the Penfield Homestead Museum and then to Moriah for another rest stop at Hunter Way Farm before heading back to the brewery for a pizza and salad feast complete with live music. In between, you'll experience some of the finest paved and gravel backroads anywhere in the region. Sunday's ride is mid morning social cruise to stunning Elk Lake Lodge followed by post ride drinks at the brewery.

Need a teaser, check out this sweet video.

Dates: September 12-13

Location: North Hudson

Mileage: 20-44 miles

Participation Cap: 150 riders

Benefits: Penfield Homestead Museum

Best of all, the event benefits the Penfield Homestead Museum in historic Ironville, known as the "Birthplace of Electrical Age." The museum is not just a homestead, but a group of 19th century buildings and extensive grounds. During your visit, you can check out the home built by Allen Penfield, farm yard barns, a church and parsonage built in the 1840s.

And if you make a full weekend of it, The Lodge at Schroon Lake - our official lodging partner for the southern Adirondacks - has a sweet deal for you. Click the Lodging tab above for details.

Rider Experiences

"This is the most fun I've had on my bike in a long time! Loved the roller coaster ride from the last rest stop to the end!"

"The Handlebarley is one of my must attend bike rides every fall. The scenery is spectacular and BikeADK organizes the event for the enjoyment of all riders."

"I just got done with the Handlebarley for the first time - what a GREAT event! Everything (support, SAG, food, water, etc) was in place and ready to go, and the BikeADK team was friendly, helpful and great to work with. I'll be back next year and we're already looking for other BikeADK events to join as well!"

"The Handlebarley was challenging, beautiful, incredibly well-organized. Everything about it was a delight -- great support team (thanks for all the encouragement, Roadies!), just the right refueling options along the ride and at the finish, nice fellow-riders. Getting to know Elk Lake Lodge and the Penfield Homestead Museum was an added bonus. Would definitely sign on for more events with BikeADK. Thanks for a great weekend!"

    Sat, Jun 20, 2026 at 9:30 AM

Welcome to beautiful Wilmington, NY, the home of Whiteface Mountain and the 8th annual Whiskey Run 5K and 10K!

But why a Whiskey Run you ask? As it turns out, the area has quite a storied history

with liquor, legal and otherwise. During the War of 1812, Wilmington supplied good rye whiskey to the American troops at the Battle of Plattsburgh as part of their daily ration. During prohibition with its proximity to Canada, Wilmington residents provided temporary haven for bootleggers crossing the border, and until recently, Wilmington was home to US Barrel, a whiskey barrel cooperage. So with our somewhat checkered history and natural beauty we invite you to join us for the annual Wilmington Whiteface Whiskey Run starting at 9:30 am at Preston Festival Field in Wilmington. Following the race is the awards ceremony with food available for purchase at Preston Festival Field. Run participants will receive a t-shirt and a “swag bag” filled with quality local goods.
