  The Salisbury Zoo's annual Zoo Stampede 5K, sponsored by Vernon Powell Shoes, is set for Saturday, May 2nd, at 9 a.m. The race kicks off from the Salisbury Zoo's East Gate (across from the Elks Golf Club). The race will go through the Zoo and along the Salisbury City Park's greenway. The course is primarily along a crushed-stone path. This year's event is themed for the Monarch Butterfly in celebration of our involvement with the Monarch SAFE program (Saving Animals From Extinction). An educational community day celebrating our Monarch SAFE program with take place after the race. Let your imagination run wild and dress in your favorite animal costume! Runners with the most creative costume will receive a prize from our generous sponsors. 100% of proceeds go to support the Salisbury Zoo.

  New Pricing Structure:

  • $25.00 - Adult

  • $15.00 - Children 12 & Under

  • $5.00 - Discount Zoo Members

  *On-site registration will be available for $30 Adults & $20 for Children from 7:30-8:30 a.m.

  Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the zoo and are not permitted in this event. Service animals are the only dogs permitted in the Zoo.

  • eRACE THE STIGMA's mission is to provide mental health awareness, support, and education as well as direct help to families in crisis or organizations that help families/individuals. eRace the Stigma is partnering with the Wicomico Public Schools and The Wicomico Local Management Board to offer a 5k race during the 4th Annual Children's Mental Health Awareness Fair. eRace the Stigma is a 501C3 and proceeds from the race go to individuals in need of treatment, and/or organizations who provide education/awareness/treatment for mental health, illness, and/or addiction.

  REFUNDS/DEFERRAL:

  • The Seashore Striders have a "No Refund" policy, however we make every possible attempt to please our client with the following options: 1. Transfer to a future Seashore Strider owned event of equal value before the end of the current year. 2. Donate your entry fee to the charity associated with the event or to the Seashore Strider Youth Running program. 3. Transfer/Defer to the following year at the same event.   This 5K trail race will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2027 at the Wicomico Ranger Station on Sixty Foot Road in Parsonsburg, MD. The race will start at 9:00 AM The race will run through forested trails in the beautiful Wicomico Demonstration Forest. Come and check out this beautiful new location. This event will be our 2nd annual 5K that has run on this trail and we are excited to host this event! Our first 5K was amazing and we had wonderful feedback from our participants!

Through sensory integration and motor skill motivation on horseback we are able to help individuals enhance their dynamic posture, muscle tone, socialization, mobility, cognitive abilities, and an overall improved quality of life. We have witnessed the joy and healing that our horses bring to our participants. It truly is a wonderful program.

  4STEPS inclusiveness has meant reaching out to minorities, rural communities, families with children with special needs, those in group homes and residential communities -- to anyone who may be out of the mainstream. Volunteers will tell you that working with exceptional participants, who courageously face ongoing physical, emotional, social and/or cognitive challenges enriches their own lives. Horse Power program develops youth to be respectful and comfortable working alongside peers with differences and diverse abilities and teaches to appreciate them as valuable, vital community members. In turn, youth with special needs develop leadership skills and build authentic community connections while developing their horsemanship skills. It's a WIN-WIN!
