Midwest Ultra Trail Classic

Welcome to the inaugural Midwest Ultra Trail Classic, a true single-track trail running experience held at Knob Noster State Park in Knob Noster, Missouri.Whether you're looking to tackle your first trail race or your next ultramarathon, the Midwest Ultra Trail Classic offers a distance for every runner. Participants can choose from 10K, 20K, 30K, 40K, or 50K distances, all taking place on the scenic and challenging Opossum Hollow Trail.The course consists of a 10K loop featuring technical single-track terrain from start to finish. Expect winding forest trails, rolling hills, roots, rocks, creek crossings, and approximately 550 feet of elevation gain per loop. Each additional distance simply adds another loop, allowing runners to enjoy the same fully supported course throughout the day.All runners will start together and return to the Start/Finish area every 10K, where they will have access to a fully stocked aid station, personal coolers, and any gear they choose to keep at the start area.     Spirit Trail Trailhead – Knob Noster, Missouri

    Join us for the Spirit Trail Classic, a scenic summer race along the beautiful Spirit Trail in Knob Noster, Missouri. This paved trail winds through peaceful countryside and wooded sections, offering a smooth and enjoyable course for runners and walkers of all levels.

    Participants can choose from four distances: 5K, 10K, 15K, or 20K, all following a clearly marked out-and-back course starting and finishing at the Spirit Trail Trailhead near Knob Noster Campgrounds.

    Every participant will receive a finisher medal, no matter the distance. Whether you're chasing a new PR or just looking to enjoy a great morning on the trail, the Spirit Trail Classic offers a fun and welcoming race experience.

    Come run one of west-central Missouri’s most scenic paved trails and chase a little happiness along the way.

    The 25th annual Run for Freedom 5K and 10K, sponsored by the West Central Missouri Veterans Assistance League (VAL), will be at 8 a.m. Sept. 19 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg. Runners from all over West Central Missouri and Eastern Kansas participate in this event to help enhance the lives of the veterans who live at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.

    This event offers a 5K and 10K run that is USATF certified and uses a professional timing company to document running times. Participants are allowed to walk the race as well and is family-friendly.

    Medals are presented to the top three finishers in each age category for the run by the veterans who live at the home. They love being able to give back to those who are instrumental in making the final chapters of their lives better.

    Proceeds from this event go towards programs that improve the quality of life for our veterans. This includes everything from receiving prize money at every bingo game held, enjoying an ice cold beer or glass of wine at our weekly happy hour, listening to the sound of live music, tasting amazing food like steak, shrimp and lobster and going on outings all over Missouri.

    This is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who have done so much for our freedom and for our country. Come Run for Freedom!
