What is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! For more information on the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, please visit www.t2t.org.

This will be our 2nd Annual Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Riverside and we are excited to grow the community’s commitment to honor first responders, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This Riverside County event features two distinct course experiences, designed intentionally for safety, flow, and participation.

    🏁 The Riverside K9 Run Experience (5K)

The 5K Run & Walk is a longer distance course open to participants with or without dogs and is best suited for high-energy dogs and participants looking for more of a challenge. Educational signage along the route highlights shelter facts, stories, and initiatives, creating a meaningful Learn While You Run/Walk experience.

🐕 Mary S. Roberts "Walk With Animals" Experience (2.5K)

The Walk With the Animals follows a separate 1.5-mile, dog-friendly course, created specifically for the safety and comfort of dogs and walkers. Participation in this walk recommends a personal dog or an on-site day foster provided by Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center. This ensures a controlled, positive environment for all animals involved.

    🎉 Finish Line Festival & 🍺Beer Garden

After completing either course, participants are invited to enjoy a festival-style finish line experience featuring food trucks, vendors, live entertainment, K9 demonstrations, and adoption opportunities.

Guests 21+ can also access the on-site Beer Garden, offering top-quality draft beer from local and national breweries. The beer garden includes shelter trivia and interactive activations, allowing guests to engage with the mission while enjoying the celebration.

A portion of all proceeds from the event directly supports Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center, helping provide food, medical care, and resources for animals in our community.

The ARMC 5K Walk/Run aims to encourage exercise while also promoting the services that San Bernardino County and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center offer to the community.

    Packet Pickup

Join us the day before the race on Friday, May 1st and beat the crowds and show up to pick up your bib from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Frank A. Gonzales Center at 670 Colton Avenue in Colton, CA 92324. Packets can also be picked up the day of the race while supplies last.

    Subject to change.

The first 800 people to pick up their bib will have their choice of an event shirt. This is first come, first served with no guarantee that we will have your size if you show up late or on race day.

    Finisher medals will be provided.

    Registration

Opens at 7 a.m. on race day. The ARMC 5K Starts at 8:30 a.m. The bib pickup will close at 8:15, and you will not be able to start the Walk/Run if you arrive on site later than 8:10 a.m.

    Event Features

There will be many event booths and light refreshments at the event. This is a rain or shine event.

    Course Aid

    Parking

There is free parking available on the grounds of ARMC and 5K participants may park in any designated slot which is not already clearly marked and reserved for disabled parking or on-duty hospital staff. Most parking lots are unfenced (please note, employee parking lots are fenced with badge in/out access gates). If the entrance gate to a fenced lot is locked in the open position, it is available for general parking that day. If the entrance gate is closed, it is reserved for on-duty hospital staff – please do not attempt to park in such lots.

    Pets

Although walking with your dog elsewhere is a terrific idea, the ARMC 5K is definitely NOT a sensible place to bring your pet. Please do not bring your dogs and do not attempt to negotiate the 5K with your pet. We appreciate your consideration in this regard.

This is a rain or shine event.
