Partners in Prevention's Spring Sprint 5K is a fundraiser to help support our mission to improve wellness and prevent substance use disorders and related health challenges in Hudson County and New Jersey. We work toward this mission through the use of our Education Programs; where we educate members of Hudson County on topics pertaining to the overall health of the community, the Hudson County Coalition; an active group of volunteers and professionals working to reduce youth substance abuse through policy change, providing information, and community advocacy, and the Lindsey Meyer Teen Institute; which works to guide young people to realize their leadership potential and become empowered to create positive changes in themselves, in their schools, and in their communities.

Virtual Race FAQ

  • WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RUN? A Virtual Run is an event you can complete Anytime/Anywhere! There isn't a set time or place since virtual runs are meant for you to complete at your convenience and at your own pace.

  • HOW DO I SUBMIT MY TIME? - The completion of the 5K is on the honor system. To submit your time, go to the top menu bar on this page and click the Results tab. Once on that page, there is a bar at the top that starts with "Post Virtual Results!" Click the Submit Virtual Results button at the end of that section. From there, enter your name to look up your registration and select Submit Virtual Results next to your name. There, you should be able to enter your time and then Submit Your Time. If you have any questions or need assistance, please e-mail Ryan Palmer at RPalmer@pipnj.org.

  • IS THERE A SPECIFIC APP WE NEED TO USE TO TRACK OUR TIME? - You can track your run with any app, watch, or fitness device you would like. There are lots of mobile applications to help you map safe 5k routes. For example, check out AllTrails, Realbuzz, Strava's global heat map, iSmoothRun, MapMyRun, Runkeeper, Runtastic, or a 5K Training Program.

  • WHEN SHOULD I COMPLETE THE VIRTUAL RUN? - Our official Virtual Run ends on April 27th at 11:00 AM. You can start and finish your run any time before then and submit your race results! Awards will be determined at the conclusion of the in-person race on the 27th, so make sure to get your times submitted as soon as possible!

The FDNY Foundation is proud to partner with SL Green Realty Corp. for the 4th Annual FDNY Foundation Climb to SUMMIT at One Vanderbilt in New York City on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Climbers will race up 1,100 feet in the sky to SUMMIT One Vanderbilt to highlight the importance of physical fitness for the brave FDNY firefighters, EMTs and paramedics who are always ready to respond at a moment’s notice. Funds raised will support training and fitness equipment for FDNY members.

In the last few years, firefighters had to run up 21 flights of stairs donning full bunker gear weighing upwards of 60 lbs in 70+ degree weather to rescue families trapped in a fire in a high-rise building as the elevators were inoperable. After such a strenuous climb, they then executed a lifesaving roof rope rescue on the outside of the building to save the occupants. Timing, training and physical fitness all played an integral part of the success of this life-saving incident.

One Vanderbilt anchors the modernization of Manhattan and shines like a beacon to the world with its iconic shape, setting a new standard for architecture in New York. Measuring 1,401 feet tall, One Vanderbilt is the tallest commercial skyscraper in midtown Manhattan and among the top 30 tallest buildings in the world. This momentous climb ends at SUMMIT One Vanderbilt located in the crown of the building. SUMMIT is New York’s newest and most immersive observatory experience offering a masterful blend of multisensorial art, technology, and thills amongst 360-views of the skyline.
